I am finally working on the memorial albums for my nephews. It is for their aunt (my SIL's sister) who died in a car accident about 18 months ago (I know.... these albums are long overdue). I need to complete them before August 1st.

I have SCOURED the twopeas website for ideas but I am still having trouble.

I am planning on leaving blanks on most of the pages for them to add their own memories of her ("My favorite holiday memory of CiCi is..." on the page with Christmas pictures of her, etc). Fortunately I have decent pictures of her with the boys.

And I am trying to find some nice scripture to add to at least one page (or maybe more.... they are a family with deep faith). And I did find one decent poem on twopeas. But that is it... I am tapped out!

Anyone else ever do a memorial album commemorating someone's life? Any great ideas?? Anything at all???? ......................P

My mother just passed away on June 22nd. I was going through her bible and found this small piece of paper with this little saying on it. I used it in her Memmorial Service on the 27th. If you would like to use it here it is:

To Those I Love

If I should ever leave you whom I love
to go along the Silent Way, grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk
of me as if I were beside you, for
who knows but that I shall be oftentimes?

I'd come, I'd come, could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers?
And when you hear a song I used to sing,
or see a bird I loved - let not the thought
of me be sad, for I am loving you
just as I always have...you were so good
to me...so many things I wanted still
to do...so many, many things to say to you
(author unknown)

It is not biblical, but very much spiritual. I wish you the best on the Memorial Album. I hope one day to be able to do one for my children on there Grandmother.

God Bless.

That is beautiful, perfect for a memorial album.

I lost my mom 5 1/2 years ago. This is my favorite during the Christmas season:

You can read the poem if you move the mouse over the picture of the poem.
The last stanza is my favorite. I got an ornament with the last stanza on it (with a poem card) for a friend on her first Christmas without her mother.
I know a family who lost a child. This same ornament is on every extended family member's Christmas tree.

that last line is so beautiful!!!! :sad1:

Now you've mad me:sad1: I have a good friend in Canada (who luckily we went to see last year) who has just written he has cancer. His doctors are hopeful, but he's over 70. He's always been pretty fit and well, but I just hope if he gets too ill to write that his family let me know.

I'm SO sorry for the loss of your Mom. I can't imagine life without my Mom. I cry just thinking of it.

Thanks so much for the great poem. I think I have the PERFECT page and picture to go with it! Thanks for the help...

That poem is so great.... I couldn't finish reading it because I was crying. I have the ideal page for it... I have a photo Christmas card from Cici's last Christmas.... all mounted on a page, waiting for the right words! And the photo was tall and slim.... so I have just the right space next to it to fit the poem. Thanks SOOOOO much!................P
