Members's cruise

HJ, I didn't know you were working the two threads. Ok, just put me down for one (but my DH is coming with me!). Which DisMeets are you referring to? I usually go to the Doorway to Dreams events. Were there others?

Well I didn't make it to either one, but I'm pretty sure the first one was called Doorway to Dreams. The second DISmeet included only folks going on our cruise. They arranged for a special tour at Chicago's DVC (?) which included freebies, then toured Michigan Ave and did some dining together. I think people from SE Wisconsin, NE Illinios, NW Indiana, and one couple from Florida joined in.

I really wish I could have made some of these events because we have never met anyone from the DISboards (that I know of). Except for one couple who we met after chatting with them about this year's cruise.

The 2012 Member Cruise should be announced during this years. The member website will be updated after the announcement is made. They have also mailed out post cards in prior years directing you to the member website for information.

HI EVERYONE.
I don't see it on here anywhere but I think the Members cruise for 2012 has been moved from Sept.2012 to Oct. 21st 2012. Some cruiser that booked for Oct 21,2012 [paying with cash] , lost there bookings, while others booking with points got to keep their booking for that date. And where told I might add......"you will love this cruise" At the present ,you can not book that cruise date right now. I just wonder why they are changing months..........storms maybe.

Most everything I learned about the DISboards (and posting on any forum like this) came from the other thread here on DISboards about our cruise. You still know how to find that thread ... well thread 12 currently, right? I think they met around late spring. Feel free to stop by Thread 12 and say HI again.

Whatcha doing this weekend? You saw the post for the Indy DISmeet above, right? I glanced at the roster of people going, and at the time there were 2 families listed which are on our cruise. One of them is from NW Indiana. I have no idea what goes on at one of these, because I've never been to one either. But I agree the Cruise DISmeet would probably be more personal and fun.

Thank you for the offer, but we have already made plans to take our grandson to Lake Michigan for boating and swimming over the holiday weekend. Wish we could make it though!

This year there are at least two other couples planning to go to the Indy DISmeet who will be sailing with us. Junior & Debbie (Steamboat WillyNilly and Luckymomoftwo) from Hobart, IN and Milford & Shawn (disrailfan and MouseFan64) from Noblesville, IN. I think at least three of them are following this thread.

Milford has a website where some of us have posted photos of ourselves which might help you recognize them here.

Just like at the DVC resorts , they provide the towels. Same goes for the pools on the ship, they provide.

I don't think they are updating it any more. I sent them our pictures quite a while ago and it has not been added. I also sent them two follow up e-mails about this and I have not gotten any responses...smjj

Sorry about that. I think I remember when you were asking about it. As I recall, Milford was trying to get it switched over to a different site so that someone else can take over the reigns next year. I bet your info was submitted while he was switching over.

The other two couples from our cruise are on there, so at least you can see what they look like. Just click on the small images to see it enlarged. I would say to give it another try, but I have an unanswered email waiting for him too.

I know he's pretty busy with at least one full-time and one part-time job, and he does a lot for us, so I don't push him.
