Just to be clear I really don’t care about the lounges … don’t drink soda, don’t eat chips, can figure out a way to get out of the heat or find a seat when I am in need and I am able to plan ahead enough to make sure my devices remain charged for the day .. the point is I was SOLD something that apparently doesn’t exist and so was everyone else that bought whether you care about it or not… i bet if the naysayers went to get the free OTUP and were told sorry we are sold out today they would be throwing a fit here and everywhere else they could rip Disney … I could post that puppies are cute and cuddly and there are those here that would argue I was FOS … nature of the beast

It does exist though because people have reported that they did indeed get in to the lounges sooner than those without it. I believe was reported 5 hours without and 90 minutes was all they waited for having MMB.

LL gives you priority access to a ride too. But as you said, you interpreted it to mean that you jump in front of all non MMB, no matter how long they have been on the list .

But the rules state “from time to time, so everyone should be be willing to accept that, and that includes OTU points if that same stipulation is part of T& C…and it is

Again, we simply understand what the benefit is differently and why I always expected it to be run like they do LL for rides.

Have anyone tried buying into MMB for both husband and wife?
If you have multiple memberships you should both be able to get the bogo offer.

Got shut out of the lounge at MK today despite being MMB or whatever it’s called … got there prior to 2pm and cast member said they were booked up and not taking anymore waitlist names for the rest of the day but they did offer the consolation prize of a free magnet … seemed queer but I guess the remote possibility exists that everyone on the waitlist for the rest of the 7 hours of the day was MMB …otherwise it would be kinda like DVC not fulfilling a benefit I just paid for and I know Disney would never do that

Same thing happened to me on Friday except it was closer to 1pm. Was told the wait list exceeded their operating hours.

Sounds like they made this way too small and it'll be mostly useless. Sure, it was a busy day at MK but it's been busier. Oh well. We'll try again next year.

Are people rope dropping the lounge? This seems a bit ridiculous with peoples experiences so far even with MMB. This will be really interesting when it really starts to get hot down in FL

Couldnt it be because of the newness of the lounge and everybody what's to check the new one out?

I assume that once the dust settles the waittime etc will return to a more normal schedule.

Probably, but my issue isn’t with capacity or the fact it was allegedly full for the entire day at 2pm, it’s about the benefit they are selling itself .. what exactly is it? So far folks seem to have an interpretation of what Disney meant by offering ‘priority access’ for a fee but nobody including the cast member that told me the benefit is ‘basically useless’ seems to truly know … I’ll hold to my interpretation until I get an ‘official’ word

Are you MMB? If so what did they tell you about what the benefit of “priority access’ actually means?

It can’t mean something one day and not the next, or to one cast member but not another but I keep forgetting as some have said Disney did say ‘from time to time’ or something so it’s all A Ok …

Yes. We used two different contracts to each purchase MMB and subsequently purchase BOGO points.

Considering that I have never heard of a time when the Epcot lounge went to a waitlist closed situation, my guess this is playing into this.

My guess is we won’t see this level of business in a month.

I think people are just putting their names down because of FOMO but not necessarily because they care to actually wait 4hrs to get into the lounge. If they’re in the area when they’re called back then great, if not, oh well.

I only say this because of my most recent interaction. We showed up around 4pm on Saturday absolutely assuming we’d be turned away with a full waitlist but the CM looked up my name mentioned we had ‘BY’ and was like ok follow me and sat us at a 2 seater section right away. I was genuinely shocked and let her know I wasn’t expecting availability and she was like no worries we’re working a bit of magic. But I just think there were plenty of no shows and they’d already run through most of their waitlist by then. There were 3-4 other tables open when we went in too, so I think people just put their names down but weren’t necessarily too bothered if they didn’t make it back.

It’s the same queue to get the limited pin as it is to sign up to go into the lounge so people might just really want the pin but may as well put their name down in case they want to stop by later, and then end up not going. Don’t know if this is an everyday thing though so ymmv 🤷🏼‍♀️

Exactly! Most people were surely putting their names in with zero intention of waiting around for their time which makes what happened to us so ludicrous…. I’m glad you guys had a better experience and actually received the service we paid for … seems like Disney listened to the complaints and rectified it

New to this thread.
Curious how this add on works.
My mom, sister and I all own a contract together. Would only one of us need to purchase this add on to get the discounted tickets? We could all share the photo thing easily, but wasn’t sure about the tickets and how they confirm different households.

Yeah it was a nice surprise. We were actually heading to get some food and get on Tiana’s since we assumed we wouldn’t get in but felt then felt bad and stayed for 20mins lol

I assume there’s going to be a few kinks to get straightened out over the course of the first few weeks. Hopefully it gets better as time passes. They should just take everyone’s name down and let everyone know it’s no guarantee they’ll be called back but at least there’s a chance and they have their bases covered.

We have been fortunate not to have ever had to wait but isn’t that what they do with waitlists.

Take names down and let you know approximate wait time but no guarantee?

My understanding is that is how the waitlist got so long so quickly and why we saw reports of the waitlist being closed by 1:00 and 2:00 pm?

But, sounds like by the time you went, at 4:00 pm, many of the early people who just joined never showed up and the waitlist was back to normal?

Glad it worked out for you! I’ll be there just one day in June but it will be just me so it will be onto to see how it’s working then.

I don’t remember wait times for the DVC Gateway at DS or ML at Epcot except close at 5 to reopen at 6 for character meet .
I think reportsonline were new MK Opens at 10:00 but in reality it was 11:00 after the first 2 days of Grand Open as news of Commemorative Mile House Trading Pin spread with pictures online.
Most of the guests hanging outside were expecting the 10:00 am Open so we all experienced a longish wait cause of the 11 open.
Plus waiting for assigned seating inside

I'm thinking they are interpreting this from the FAQ as to the waitlist is closed so the waitlist at that point doesn't exist. But I think even if closed a MMB member should go ahead of the ones on the list that aren't.

Q: What does Priority Lounge Access mean?
A.
If a waitlist is in place at one of the Member Lounges in a Disney theme park, then enrolled Members will be moved to the top of the waitlist—for prioritized entry.

Yes, that’s for sure a classic waitlist but it’s clear they have a finite number for their waitlist otherwise they wouldn’t have closed it. I’m saying they should let people join at anytime and not preemptively close it like they had done. But maybe that’s what they’ll do going forward and discovering there a lot of no-shows. I also think it’ll be busy once the initial excitement passes, so that might also make a difference.

Sounds like what I thought I was buying 👍

Okay! Never close a waitlist but then again, if people do show up, you have mad people wondering why they were even allowed on it.

I can see how someone could read that and think what they have means jump ahead of everyone e.

However, the T and C do explain in detail that it can be suspended and may not be in existence all the time.

So, this past week, sounds like it was a combination of both.

But, I’ll admit, I can see confusion now
