Membership Magic Beyond

I'm still trying to make up my mind on MMB. We're heading to disneyland in early March for 5 days. Three of us want 5 day parkhoppers but my daughter only wants 3 days (all weekdays). Looking at the MMB site, it's $420 for parkhopper tickets with multipass (plus $99 for MMB, so $519 total. The Disneyland site wants $601 for the same ticket & Undercover Tourist is charging $571. I guess I'll still save $52-82 over the other options. Does this look right or am I missing something?
Remember you don’t need to add the cost of MMB $99 to all tickets. When paying the $99 you can get tickets for everyone in your household.

Just to save someone else’s mmb is purchased by an individual, not a membership so if you have multiple people on your membership make sure the person who purchases it is the one who will use the benefits. For example I usually handle the administrative end of dvc for our family so I bought mmb. Since I did that, if my parents are in the parks ( also part of our membership) they don’t get priority lounge access because I’m the one who bought it
I'm confused. Are you saying that they're in the parks, but you're not? But if you were there with them, could they get priority lounge access with you? It sounds to me like if I buy the MMB, then wanted to go up to the members' lounge between 6-9, my husband might not be able to go. Or is that just (I hope) if he tried to go to the lounge without me?

yes. They will be in the parks when I’m not. They’re retired and can go more frequently than I can. I just wanted to ensure people realize the benefit doesn’t extend to every owner on the account. It only applies to the individual purchaser and their guests who are traveling with them. It sounds like this thread has already figured this out but I was surprised and hoped to spare someone else from making my mistake

Only one person in @crickee party was getting 3 day so that is the cost as the others were getting 5 days.

Crickee since it is still a small savings you may as well do it and then maybe you can do the BOGO OTUP to get more value.

As we live outside the US, we can't get this sadly. I asked at Polynesian and the DVC manager said she had no idea if it'd ever be offered. Sucks, but even as a new DVC member I dislike this two-tiered membership...

Hopefully quick question. DH has 2 memberships, one joint with me and one alone. I bought MMB and the OTUP for our June trip. When I called Member Services today and asked if DH joined MMB if he too could get OTUP under his individual contract I was told no even though they are two separate contracts. Has any one experienced being able to buy OTUP under two diffweren't memberships?

Also when I asked if I would be able to buy another OTUP for our Nov trip since we have a Sept UY and those points would be in the new UY she said no because it is in the calendar year of the MMB. Has anyne been able to buy OTUP buy one get one free twice, once in the current UY and once in their next UY?

The BOGO free special is once per benefit year so that part is correct.

While I have not yet tried, I specifically asked about the different owners and was told that each would be eligible because this program is for each person.

I specifically asked about my DS who is in a different household and would need to buy for the tickets or points for AP and was told he’d be able to get the benefit as a paid member as long as it was not the membership in which I bought them.

We are pretty sure we will be doing it, so I will report if we do!

Thank you so much I really appreciate it. We need the points for Nov so hopefully if DH, in April at 7 months, buys in he should be able to buy them on his individual membership.

And if he does, there is really no reason he needs to mention his other membership…keep us posted if you end up doing it before we make up our mind for sure.

I got my first use of MMB this past weekend at Epcot. Went up to the lounge and they said it was a good to have it because I bypassed 11 parties currently waiting to enter.
We also took advantage of the lounge access a couple weeks ago. There was a person in-training at the signup desk, and we thought it odd when the senior person called them over to show them what MMB looks like on the iPad when scanned. Surprised us that we were the first chance they had to see that. Sounds like they're not that prevalent yet.

I just wish MMB got us better snacks up there!! I know it's not the complete point of the lounge, but a bag of pretzels was our only option!! Oh well!

For those looking at the Disneyland tickets, they are a great deal. I was able to save $400 off the best price I could find for me, my wife, and our son for 1 park per day tickets. The tickets were non-peak even though our visit is in April for spring break. It only took 6 minutes on the phone to purchase and they were loaded right away. According to the blackout calendar in the app the tickets are good for every weekday between now and Dec. 19, so it looks like the only peak period is the two weeks over Christmas and New Years.

Is calling the only way to get them or can you purchase online?

Just to clarify, did you purchase the MMB 3 day 1 park each day for $330 (and the Disneyland AP is not showing block out dates for spring break dates for your tickets)? The Disneyland link you have in your post goes over to the Dreams Unlimited web site so I wasn't sure if you bought your tickets there.

If think there are certain keywords that DISboards automatically links to their sites. The only way you can get the MMB tickets is through Member Services by calling. I would love to be able to get it online.

Yes, I got the tickets by calling Member Services and it was a very quick and easy call. Tickets were $330 each. As far as I can see, the only way to purchase is by calling. And the link was automatically inserted! Sorry for any confusion!

Does anyone know if you can choose which stay to activate the Memory maker option? That would make sense, but I don’t see the information anywhere.

We verified this with a 'blue umbrella' at the parks last month. I want to activate mine for a more 'family' trip later this year. It does not activate automatically (and I can verify ours did not activate last month) - you have to manually activate it through the app. So yes, you can choose when to activate. She showed me how to do it, but I'll need to go back and try and find it again when ready!!
