I've searched and can't find if anyone has successfully upgraded MMB tickets to something else.
If the value credited when upgrading is their theoretical X%off value per their marketing, then buying and upgrading makes sense.
If the value credited is exactly what I paid, then MMB ticket purchase to upgrade makes no sense. I'm trying to figure out which DL tix to get - please help if you have this knowledge. TIA

I'm not sure about Disneyland, but for WDW, I received exactly what I paid for the MMB ticket when I upgraded to the Sorcerer AP for my daughter.

The rules are set by DVC and part of buying them allows you to use them if you cancel the initial night.

So, while it’s an extra step owners go through, it’s not breaking any rules.

It’s actually nice that they seem to be amending the rules to accommodate.

And maybe it has to do with new expanded transfer rules as well.

ETA: And it’s also possible that the CM did indeed make a random reservation and cancel it before reallocating.
I think I read that you can't bank the OTUP if you cancel the reservation. Do you know if that's true?

So it sounds like I could buy a AP with points with my MMB and use the 24 OTU points and if I bought my wife a MMB memberships she could do the same?

Yes - it’s assuming that you have more than one membership as each membership can’t get more than 24 OTUP per UY.

Sorry if this has been answered- I have MMB on my membership with 150+ Direct points... can I buy a second MMB subscription for my wife on my other membership which only has resale contracts?

Since you have 150 points direct you and your wife are both eligible. Being eligible is either you are or you aren’t.

After you both have both in, you can get the OTUP for membership 1 and your wife can get it for membership 2. Each membership can only get a total of 24 OTUP per UY.

If you don’t intent to get the OTUP I’d recommend to think of its worth it to get two MMB memberships instead of just 1.

Thank you, and agreed, this would only be in the context of maxing out OTU.

I'm not sure that is the case.

@stat can certainly buy it for their wife but I don't think they can buy the BOGO OTUP for the resale contract.

I have 2 membership numbers. DH and I are on both. I can buy MMB twice? I thought it was only once regardless of how many memberships we have.

I think each member can only buy once. But since you have 2 memberships with both of you on them I think you could each buy a MMB membership if both DVC memberships are eligible. You buy on one membership/use year and your DH buy MMB on the other membership/use year.

DH can buy one and you can buy one.

We only have one use year so thus only have one membership number.
I wish I had realized earlier that the perks were a per person thing as I would have had my SO buy it for the lounge access.
No I have to be with SO to go in front of the lines and I'm not in the parks as often.
It does us know good to have SO buy it as the real savings is in the OTUP for us and those can only be purchased once for us.

"The Benefits offered through the Optional Benefit Program for the Benefit Season beginning January 12, 2025, through 11:59PM ET on December 31, 2025 (“2025 Benefit Season”) are set forth below. A Disney account with a valid Disney Vacation Club Membership associated with that account is required to enroll in the Optional Benefit Program. The enrollment in the Optional Benefit Program will link directly to the enrolled Member’s Disney account profile and will be reflected on their Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card. "

Each person on a qualifying contract(s) can purchase. If one person buys it, it will only show up on their MDE so mine shows DVC BY, Annual and my SO has DVC Y, Annual even though SO is on the same contract.

Next year we will have SO add it for the lounge access but that also means SO will have to call MS to buy the OTUP and SO hates calling on the phone lol

I only bought 38 direct points on the 2nd membership so I wont qualify on that one I think?
At the current time you have to have 150 direct points to qualify. So for whatever use year that you bought 38 points do you have any more that are direct?
If now you would need to buy 112 more direct in that use year to equal 150 which would then qualify you.
