At the current time you have to have 150 direct points to qualify. So for whatever use year that you bought 38 points do you have any more that are direct?
If now you would need to buy 112 more direct in that use year to equal 150 which would then qualify you.

Nope only 38 in that use year. My other 300 direct are different use year.

I'll admit I'm still a little confused. I think @eticketplease is agreeing with you that I can buy MMB on my resale membership, but that the BOGO OTU benefit won't work on it. But I'd find that hard to believe since that benefit is promised as part of MMB.

I think it's the opposite. You can buy MMB for yourself as long as you have some sort of qualifying contract (grandfathered or 150+ direct). MMB membership is for a member/person, not a membership

Then once you have the MMB membership you can use the BOGO OTUP on any of your use years once, even if it is a resale only use year/membership number

Where I'm struggling is if my wife also buys MMB. Say I buy 24 OTU with the Dec UY. Can she also buy 24 OTU for the August resale membership? Or, did we cap out at 24 even though we both have MMB?

I thought @Sandisw said you both could purchase since you were on a qualifying membership (December) however since the August is not a qualifying membership the BOGO OTUP points would not be available only full priced OTUP. If the August WAS a qualifying membership then you could receive 24 BOGO OTUP for AUG & Dec assuming you both purchased the MMB.

All I can say for certain is that it is very confusing lol

You are mixing things up.

The MMB is not tied to a specific DVC membership(specific UY) you are either eligible for MMB or not.

If you are, you can get the BOGO, go in the evening lounge etc. To get into the evening lounge you need to stay on points. The stay does not need to be on direct points but can also be on resale points.

I have UY’s with both direct + resale points but also only resale points. When I got my bogo I got them on my resale only membership.

If I should decide to buy an AP using points it’s my understanding that DVC only allows direct points to be used, no resale points. In that case I couldn’t use any contract under my resale only membership.

If both of you buys MMB, then each of you can get the bogo offer. However you can’t get it for the same membership. One of you can get it for the Dec UY and the other one for the Aug UY.

The MMB membership is per person not per membership.

Have in mind that if you prior to becoming MMB buys 24 OTUP for the ie Aug ‘25 membership then you can’t use the bogo offer for your Aug ‘25. There is still a limit on each membership for the OTUP. You can only get 24 points per UY.

Ok perfect, thank you. I did phrase something incorrectly earlier but this is exactly how I originally assumed / hoped it worked. Once I'm ready to get annual passes I'll be doing this to lower my average point cost and so I don't use up all my direct points!

Seems like there's also a training issue with this. I thought it worked as you said but we were told by Member Services we could only do the bogo for our membership with direct points.

We weren't ready to get the bogo at that point so didn't press it. We might try to get them on the one with resale only first before both buying MMB. The OTUP would be the only reason for both of us to get MMB and if we can't do it, I'd rather not waste money on MMB.

You can buy up to 8 passes. Per the MMB T&C:

• Members may use their Vacation Points to purchase up to a total of eight (8) Passes per 2025 Benefit Season for themselves and up to seven (7) of their immediate family living in their household. The maximum number of Passes that may be purchased by a Member is eight (8) per 2025 Benefit Season, regardless of whether purchased using Vacation Points or other form of payment.

Im sorry to hear that.

That’s definitely a training issue. Next time you try to call if the CM don’t/can’t allow you to but the bogo for your resale only membership just hang up and try again.

When I got mine I didn’t refer to my membership as a resale only membership. I just asked to get the bogo for the membership which number I entered during the wait for a CM. Just want to avoid anyone doing that when they call.

Agree. That is why I was thinking of transferring it to my daughter if they go without me since she doesn’t have an AP.

Not sure if this got answered or you’ve tried by now, but I did transfer my memory maker to a friend on MDE and he was able to use it and download all their family pictures on their trip. Seemed to work exactly as expected when transferring it.
