members traveling with paying guests

We are traveling to OKW with SIL and her family in May. She is paying for their room through CR. When she made her ressie and asked them to put their room close to ours, they told her that they couldn't find our ressie. Is that because of two different "booking" inventories? Ours through MS and hers through CR? I have written confirmation. Should I be concerned?

Yes, there are two different reservation systems and they do not "talk" to each other. I'm sure there are two valid reservations - no need to be concerned about that.

Here's what I would do:

Get your SIL's confirmation number. Then call MS and ask the CM to put a request on your reservation to be close to the cash party with confirmation number xxxxxxx.

Have your SIL call CRO and ask that CM to note your DVC confirmation number on her CRO reservation with the same request.

That's about all you can do until you arrive. Repeat the request at check in. Try to arrive at OKW as early in the day as you can - that will increase your chances of being assigned rooms that aren't too far apart.

Yes, they are two different systems. I think I've heard they are planning on either combining them or giving each visibility to the other.

When I booked a CRO room one night with a DVC room the next night, I was told that the hotel wouldn't even see the two ressies together as one guest with two nights. All they could do was try to note on the first one that I didn't want to move, but they couldn't even guarantee that. They can link them.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm breathing easier now. We are actually staying first at POR, and then moving to OKW after 2 days, so we will remind them again after arrival. In the meantime, I will take your advice about adding the conf # to each of the other requests. I bet Disney would be getting a lot more calls with questions without these boards.
