My husband walked out after 15 minutes after DeeVeeCee and the MC got going. He just couldn't take it any more. I thought I could make it to the end, but I couldn't do it either. I walked out after half an hour.
As I was headed back to the hotel, I passed a couple looking about as stunned as I felt, holding DVC hats. I asked them if they had also walked out - they had - and the word that all of us agreed described our feelings best was "insulting".
We thought we were going to get some concrete information and updates, adult to adults. Throw in Mickey Mouse roaming around dressed in Aulani gear? Would have been great.
DeeVeeCee screetching at us, expecting us to make mouse ears with our fists, feeding the group irrelevant trivia instead of DVC news, as if we were, at best, child-like, or at worst half-wits? Don't need to do that more than once. Sure made my husband and me think twice about how Disney perceives DVC members.

I agree with you, your husband and the other couple. Deevy Cee is insulting to owners. The actress may be fine - I'd love to see her portray anything other than Deevy (heard she used to work in Hollywood studios as a street performer). I grit my teeth every time I see her... but I do so because I had an 8th grade sociology teacher of whom she reminds me. ( imagine a full year of her )

Why in the world would they bother to keep doing these events? How many people show up typically?
I compare the feeling to watching a movie and seeing a character do something really silly or stupid, and feeling embarrassed on their behalf. I've been to two. The first was enough. The second my mom dragged me to, almost literally
I really feel like I'm being spoken to as if I were a child. I get the jokes but it's just not for me. And I find pretty much anything entertaining, TBH.
