Member Updates?

Hi All,

On what days of the week are the member updates at the various WDW DVC resorts.

I seem to recall that OKW is on Tuesday. I could be wrong.

I am curious about VWL and BCV.

OKW has them on Tuesdays at 8:00 and BWV's have them on thursdays at 8:00 am.That is the only 2 places that have them.

Now to get the BCV and VWL info, will contact MS as we get closer to our visit. That is if we don't get the answer here. My money is on getting the answer here.

Okay, call me dumb , but what are member updates. We have been members since 1998 and I have never heard of this one. I probably just wasn't paying attention.

They are meetings for the members to update you on DVC happenings, i.e. new resorts etc. A chance to earn about your DVC vacation options and just answer questions.

They usually have coffee, juice, and pastries. Drawings for door prises like hats and other stuff.

In reality they put them on to give you a chance to purchase an add on while the magic of the mouse is fresh in your head. Maybe they put something in the juice or coffee.

I guess this was just one of those things that flew right over my head. I was busy doing to many other things in the world. I think I will try to catch one when we are at the BWV in June to see what it's like. I just added on 200 points at the BWV so I don't think they will catch me with that one.

There are no updates at BCV or VWL since there is no Community Hall or meeting room large enough for such events. (The Drawing Room at BCV might be a possibility- as long as the attendance is limited).

The meetings are not resort specific and members staying at other resorts are more than welcome.

As mentioned, the updates are a good review of all aspects of the DVC program, with special emphasis on non-DVC options. There are door prizes and lots of DVC logo give-aways to encourage participation. The updates are not a good source for rumors about upcoming properties or events, but the guides who conduct the meeting are all very personable and are willing to stay around after the presentation to answer questions and sell add-ons.
