Member Cruise

A MC begins tomorrow. I hope we will be hearing some news from that!

Bobbi:goodvibes

Thanks, Bobbi. For some reason I thought the MC left earlier. It should be fun to hear how it went. :thumbsup2

Still so quiet...or am missing the thread where they are sharing?? I have seen a couple of things on Facebook where DVC is putting out but not hearing anything from the members. I want to experience the cruise through them....can you tell I wish I was aboard with them??!!!

WiFi on-board is expensive and slow. Don't expect too many live reports.

We should be DVC members by December. Does anyone know when the DVC member cruises are in 2014?

Not announced yet. One possible date is 8/24/2014 as that 4-night Dream cruise was cancelled and chartered out recently.

If you want updates and you're on Facebook, check out the DVC Facebook page. Lots of pics and remarks about the member cruise.

Did everyone see the announcement for the Members Cruise 2014? DVC News has the info on it. Yes, it is August 24th of next year as many of us expected.

Does it worth it? We have never been on a member cruise. I heard it is more expensive than regular cruise, right?

Traditionally the points required have been higher - I'm not sure about the cash cost because I haven't looked at that closely. The selling point for the higher cost is the special nature of the cruise, including special events and gifts provided, etc. I guess it's really not a "gift" if the cost to be there is higher, eh?! :rotfl: Nevertheless, they are unique items that a lot of people really love.

We have not opted on the member cruise recently because school here starts in early September and pulling our kids out was not an option. We did go on the initial member cruise to celebrate DVC's 10th anniversary. That one was not a full charter of DVC members, but was really a fun, unique event with special stuff for DVC members each day.

This one being in late August has us seriously considering giving it a shot... decisions....decisions....

We have never been on a Disney Cruise before. I received a flyer in the mail today with next year's member cruise dates. The flyer says to call on November 3.

I am looking for information about the cruise. What makes it special? Would you go again? What did you enjoy most? etc.

Thanks for your input.

We are really hoping to get a room in the 2024 members cruise....I have been wanting to do one and this one fits in my plans!!!

With the premium rate they charge, 10 years sounds right the amount of time needed to save up $$$$ to go on one!

So, I am considering this cruise on a cash basis (not using pts). Is the only way you can book it by calling the DVC MS #? Can I book it myself on-line or through a TA? And what is the deal with Nov 3rd? Why on earth would they want all members to call on one day at the same time? they already have more call volume than they can handle!
