Member Cruise - Dumb Question!

We are looking to use point to book a cruise in either 2007/2008. I have heard a "member cruise" mentioned several times. What is this? Is it the normal amount of points? What is different than the normal cruise? How long is it?

It's a DVC member only cruise in October. It's sold out though and I'm not sure if they are even taking wait lists for it anymore. Go to the DVC member web site and all the information about it is listed under Special Events.

It would be wonderful if they had another one in '07!

'05's was a 4 night cruise with stops at Key West and Castaway Cay. We enjoyed it so much. Met so many DVCers and staff.

PS. There is one this year, I think the date that it begins is Oct. 22nd, another 4 night one. We can't make it due to work schedules.

I know that I saw the tentative dates for the 2007 Member Cruise...but for the life of me I can't remember where...it could have been allearsnet.com, the members site, DCL site, or here at the DIS. If I find the info again I will post back.

The members only cruise has been more points in the past, not sure about the one coming up but I'm sure someone else will know.

It is a lot of points, that's why we're paying cash. It's a lot cash too. But, we've heard such good things about the cruise, that we want to give it a try. It's a 4-day this time, with two days at Castaway Cay and one day at sea.

I booked the member cruise this morning!!!!!
We got a call from MS yesterday that they were holding a cabin for us until 7pm today. We were put on the waitlist for the cruise on Monday after the Saturday booking day. The points and cash are higher than the regular 4 night cruise, I'm not sure exactly how much. Like the previous post said we heard so many good things about the member cruise last year and this year it is during F&WF time we really wanted to go!
