I read in the Member Club House about the kids activities at SSR. Has anyone attended this? Can you tell me how it works? My children are 11 and 13, they may like to go there just to get some freedom from us. We wouldn't mind it either.

Thanks!

Deb

There wasn't much going on in the way of scheduled activities when we were there in June...but the resort had just opened and there were few people around. Now that four buildings have opened (and are at capacity almost every night)...I'm sure there are enough families there to take advantage of the activities schedule.

We did see some artwork (spin art, I think) hanging up to dry. They have the space and are set up to do tons of different things! I think the kiln for the clay is on site (and if they have a wheel...the kids will love it!)

There should be some details about it in the perks pages when you arrive. I would think that your kids are old enough to be there without you. Maybe you can get some peaceful pool time at HRS while they are "playing"? It's right next door.

Katie,
Ahh... that would be nice to sit by the pool alone reading a book. Though my kids are old enough now where they are pretty self sufficient. It still would be nice! Thanks for posting!

Deb...I hope you get that chance you read by the pool! :)

I forgot to say...our family really enjoyed the community hall. I'd always thought it was a neat amenity...but I never pictured us hanging out there for long (we're an active family and the kids are all still at different levels when it comes to games, etc.). However, there is something for everyone to have fun with. We played an entire game of Life with the older kids...while the little guy colored and built things with legos.
