There wasn't much going on in the way of scheduled activities when we were there in June...but the resort had just opened and there were few people around. Now that four buildings have opened (and are at capacity almost every night)...I'm sure there are enough families there to take advantage of the activities schedule.
We did see some artwork (spin art, I think) hanging up to dry. They have the space and are set up to do tons of different things! I think the kiln for the clay is on site (and if they have a wheel...the kids will love it!)
There should be some details about it in the perks pages when you arrive. I would think that your kids are old enough to be there without you. Maybe you can get some peaceful pool time at HRS while they are "playing"? It's right next door.
