What can we call you?!

Thanks for the welcome. You can call me Marita

I am just now up to the part where you about to meet Katt, so I am almost caught up.

Oh, I guess I need to edit that, no meet yet, so I'm caught up for now.

Great report!

Hello! I’m going to meet Katt at the Grand Floridian! YAY! I forget now, after a month of time has gone by, but I know that we originally planned to meet at 7 pm I think. Katt text messaged me (which blew my mind because most of my girlfriends are clueless, and I think Katt’s about their age) and asked if we could move it up to a bit earlier. I’m not sure what time we finally settled on but it was around 6.

The plan was for us to all shower (me first) after our return from T.L. This went fine and I got to do my hair and make-up while the rest were showering and dressing. I planned on leaving the hotel before them, and taking the bus over to the MK and then hopping the monorail to the GF. Well, I left the room and made the two mile trek to the bus stop! I walked down the ramp to the bus stop just as the bus to MK was pulling away. I swear they wait for me to appear at the top of the ramp, pull forward slowly so I can read their destination, just as I quicken to a shuffle and then a trot, they pull away. I always imagine the bus driver snickering to himself and saying, “Not this time, Lady! Not this time!” :hyper:

So, I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. Alot of other people showed up and waited also. I waited SO long that my husband and boys were down there eventually. Bob says, “I thought you were going ahead of us?!” ARGH. Yeah. Me too! The bus arrived around 6:15 pm. I think we had been there for around 40 mins. at that point. The bus was PACKED. This really has to stop at some point. I cannot believe how bad the bus situation has been this far. We all rode together to the MK and I ran off for the resort monorail. I’m not sure why now, but for some reason it made perfect sense to me that I’d get on that one. You know, most people don’t realize that when you get on the resort monorail, you can still go to all the stops that the regular monorail goes to. So, if you’ve ever entered the monorail lines via the TTC and saw the line of people stretching DOWN the monorail ramp, go on the resort monorail people!! So, anyway, I jumped on there and rode around to the GF. It took forever! I was late to meet Katt. Fortunately, she was good about it. As we pulled up to the GF stop, I was watching the doorway to see if I could spot Katt. Sara was the first face I saw!! princess:

Katt greeted me and I delivered Jo’s gift (a hug!) and my own. Katt was so sweet and had such a sweet little southern voice! We meandered over to the sitting area near the gift shop upstairs. We grabbed a seat and talked about the bad luck that poor Katt had on her visit.
(This is the part where Katt says that I talked too fast...) :mic: :mic: :mic:
I met her DH, son and of course, Sara. Sara hung out with us and talked about her favorite rides. She was so darling. Joshua was feeling stressed and was sitting quietly with Katt’s dh. To his credit, Katt’s Dh didn’t look at me like I was an axe murderer!

Sara shot some pics of me and Katt for the Fockers! Here you go!

In my defense, it was hot (so I’m shiny). Also, to my knowledge my eyebrows are usually at the same height ( I blame a weird camera angle ) and when you meet me, I will have my hair in a pony tail. It was only down because it wasn’t dry yet when I left the hotel. I have a elastic band on the wrist behind Katt.

The meet was cool. I thought Katt and her family were very nice. It went by really fast though. I had to run off to find my family and check in for dinner so we said our goodbyes. :wave2:

I arrived at Narcoosee’s to check in for dinner at about 7:15 pm. Bob caught up with me sometime soon after that and then the boys who were at the arcade. We waited in the “lobby” of the restaurant with this fellow.

100_1297.jpg

Ah, delicious sourdough bread delivery!

100_1300.jpg

And a glass of the Official Year of a Million Dreams Champagne. Yummy. So good, I had two! :drinking:

100_1298.jpg

This is the gorgeous view from our table.

100_1301.jpg

Our waitress came to the table and took our drink order. She mentioned that the chef would be coming by the table to talk with us about the milk intolerance. She was adequate at her job, but I can say that I was not blown away. We’ve eaten at Narcoosee’s a few other times and the service is always GREAT. Not this time. It was just, eh. I won’t mention her name because of this.

The chef though, was AMAZING! He came by the table and asked Gus and I what we’d like to eat. I told him that I love scallops so could he do something for me? He said he’d make a batch of risotto just for me! It was SO good! Gus ordered the Ahi Tuna seared, with sticky lemon rice and bok choy. He’s such an adventurous eater, that kid! The chef came by later and asked us how we liked our dinner and we both gave a huge thumbs up! :thumbsup2

A sort of dark photo of my scallops with risotto, corn and sprouts:
100_1303.jpg

Here’s Gus’ Ahi:
100_1304.jpg

Bob and SD ordered the same thing. For some reason, we couldn’t get a decent picture of our food this meal!! They both ordered the filet mignon, done medium. This came with a potato, cheese gratin and broccolini. My boys all love broccolini.... ::yes::
Here is Bob’s attempt at a photo of his dinner. His hand is in there for some reason that is only known to Bob.... :confused3
100_1305.jpg

No one had room for dessert. I should mention at this point that our server never returned to ask how dinner was at all. Nor did she come by and offer any drink refills. That seems a pretty big mistake, so I’m assuming she was new or really busy with alot of tables...?

The chef came by later on and asked how everything was. He and Gus talked about the Ahi. Gus said that he’d like to cook it at home and the chef asked if he’d like the recipe printed out. Gus was so excited!!! The chef included his business card and told Gus to email him anytime at all to ask questions if he had any! So sweet! This is Disney magic at it’s finest!
(By the way, for those of you who read my other TR, this is the same restaurant that we had the great chef at last year!!!)

We rolled our selves out of there, full and happy! We walked slowly around the pool area on our way back to the hotel. We got to enjoy the water parade going on out on Bay Lake as we strolled.
The original plan included taking the boat over to the Poly or walking (the walkway DOES go this way, Bob!!) and getting Lapu’s on the beach and watching the fireworks over the MK. But, as luck would have it, the boys were ready to get back to the hotel. The “second day in WDW lag” was setting in! We walked inside and decided to skip our plans and head for the taxi stand. None of us could stand the thought of the monorail/bus routine to the hotel....:faint:

A bellhop greeted us quickly and asked how he could help. Bob told him that we’d like a taxi to the BWV. He said, they are calling one for you right now! Ok, now that’s service! Just as we’re having this exchange with the bellhop, a man drives up in an Escalade. He has rap music blaring from the inside and a large group of people jumped out. Funny now, but what stands out to me is that he had a HUGE soda in the cup holder (a Big Gulp or something) and he says to Bob, “You, man, you need a taxi. I’m a taxi. Get in. Come on!!!” Bob starts walking towards this guy with a hand on my back. Uh, no, Bob!! I am watching the bellhop giving this guy the eye! The bellhop approached him just as I said (loudly), NO THANKS. Bob was wondering why I had stopped moving forward. I hissed to him to stop pushing me, that the guy was NOT a taxi, GOD only knows where he was going to take us!!!
The bellhop must have told him to get lost because the guy got in his truck and took off. My heart was pounding and then our REAL cab pulled up. The driver was great. No problem! This made me very determined to mention here, in my TR, that you should NOT get into any vehicle unless the bellhops tell you it’s ok!!!
BOB! :scared:

We made it back to our hotel in 10 minutes. Quite a difference between that and our 1 hour plus trip TO the GF. It was great to travel so quickly! Hope you guys enjoyed our second day! Tomorrow is a trip OUT of Disney. Tune in next time!

Cool, am I first?

I get you about the 2nd day at Disney thing. This time we're going to the beach on the third day for a little R & R. What was up with the buses--no bus mojo!

P.S. I might have to catch Off Kilter this time!

SO you DID wait till I left VA to post this...

Was Bob trying to get you kidnapped? :lmao:

I love the DIS meet. Did you wear the lime for the occasion? I so didn't recognize you with your hair down.

I always imagine the bus driver snickering to himself and saying, “Not this time, Lady! Not this time!” :hyper:

I'm sorry you didn't have any good bus mojo.

So, if you’ve ever entered the monorail lines via the TTC and saw the line of people stretching DOWN the monorail ramp, go on the resort monorail people!!

I did not know that!

:cool1: Focker pics!!!

I will have my hair in a pony tail. It was only down because it wasn’t dry yet when I left the hotel. I have a elastic band on the wrist behind Katt.

I didn't recognize you without the pony tail. I do the same thing. Especially at Disney or just in the summer in general.

I should mention at this point that our server never returned to ask how dinner was at all.

I'm sorry to hear that! You had such good service last time. At least the chef was attentive. It's easier to forgive a waitress than a chef. ;)

This made me very determined to mention here, in my TR, that you should NOT get into any vehicle unless the bellhops tell you it’s ok!!!
BOB! :scared:

I would like to add not to get into any buses that aren't official Disney busses. We made that mistake once. It looked like a big tour bus and the guy swore that he was hired by Disney but the bus stunk and I swear that's why I got sick on that trip (2006) but it seemed so dirty. As we were getting off there was a tip cup with a sign that said something about that's how he got paid. I doubt Disney hired the guy. I've always been leery of cars that aren't yellow and claim to be a taxi. :sad2:

Gotta love a Dis meet. :woohoo:

I think it is great that you have had such wonderful experiences at Narcoosse's. Definitely a place I would like to try out someday.

So, if you’ve ever entered the monorail lines via the TTC and saw the line of people stretching DOWN the monorail ramp, go on the resort monorail people!!
::yes:: Actually, we almost exclusively use the Resort line because Leo loooves riding so much! :goodvibes
To his credit, Katt’s Dh didn’t look at me like I was an axe murderer!
He should talk to Jo's DH! :rotfl2:

You did it -you got the pic!!! I'm so proud - it brings a tear to my Focker eye!

And a glass of the Official Year of a Million Dreams Champagne. Yummy. So good, I had two! :drinking:
Ooo, I haven't tried this - do tell me more... is it dry? Crisp? I adore champagne!

Okey-dokey. SO glad I haven't cenceled my Narcoosees ADR yet for Aug. 'Cause I'm thinking now I really NEED to go!!!

“You, man, you need a taxi. I’m a taxi. Get in. Come on!!!”
Oh yeah, THAT sounds safe and cozy! :scared:

OMG!

Mel almost got kidnapped by Big Gulp/Escalade guy! Bad Bob...BAD! :sad2:

Love the pics! Look at you two hot mommasitas!!!!

:rotfl: and  regarding Big Gulp Guy and Bob's naivete. Sounds like there might have been something else in the big gulp besides soda! :drinking1

BOB:scared1: What were you thinking:eek:
Thanks! You noticed!
Oh, glistening....got it! :thumbsup2
Vanna he's not....he was probably trying to get it to do some weird focusy camera thingy...I don't know! :confused3
No, no AHI yet. Ahi is thin on the ground in Michigan.....

Awesome DIS MEET! Love the pics!! What an awesome experience with the chef! I love Narcoossee's!
Yep! It was so cool. I noticed the pic of you and KC on your TR at Narcoosee's! Isn't it just delish? :worship:

Great Update ! So Kool you met Kat! But where is your LANYARD ? Kat has one!!!
I only wear my lanyard if I'm going to trade pins. It's NOT lime green (NOKATT) and it does NOT have anything Dis related on it....

Great pictures of You and Katt! :goodvibes too bad you couldnt spend more time together..
I love scallops!! and how cool for the Chef to print out a recipe for your son! :thumbsup2
Was Bob trying to get you kidnapped?
I suspect that Bob was SICK of me and tried to get me taken away by the Escalade dude!
YUMMY SCALLOPS!! I ate them every single day last year when we were in Gloucester for a week! Really. Every single day. SD joked that I'd need a "fish patch" to get over my addiction when we left to come back to MI. :rotfl2: :lmao:

I love the DIS meet. Did you wear the lime for the occasion? I so didn't recognize you with your hair down.
Yes, I did wear it for Katt. She didn't comment though....
I never ever wear it down. Only when it's wet. Bob loves it long and flowy. I can't stand it in my face!!!:sad2:

I didn't recognize you without the pony tail. I do the same thing. Especially at Disney or just in the summer in general.

I'm sorry to hear that! You had such good service last time. At least the chef was attentive. It's easier to forgive a waitress than a chef.

How sad, I'm only recognizable with my pony tail! Oh well. I probably need to do my hair (flat iron) and wear it down more!
The service wasn't BAD, just sort of indifferent. Don't let it sway you if you want to go, that was the ONLY time that's ever happened!
Your bus story is SKEERY! Yikes!

Gotta love a Dis meet. :woohoo:

I think it is great that you have had such wonderful experiences at Narcoosse's. Definitely a place I would like to try out someday.

It's delish. Sort of in the middle, not too dry not too sweet. Sort of on a fruity chard idea....

Yes, you have to go! I love the location and all three times I've been we've gotten to see either the fireworks or the water pageant! And, the GF is so lovely to wander around at!

I really think Bob was up to something!

OMG!

Mel almost got kidnapped by Big Gulp/Escalade guy! Bad Bob...BAD! :sad2:

Love the pics! Look at you two hot mommasitas!!!!
Thanks, you aren't so bad yourself, chica!

Yes, the Big Gulp dude was going to take me away!!! Bob didn't care. He was propelling me!!!!!

regarding Big Gulp Guy and Bob's naivete. Sounds like there might have been something else in the big gulp besides soda!
~Beka~

Yikes! I didn't think of that! Bob's so silly sometimes....:sad2:

----------------------------

It makes me laugh that Bob was going to put his family in this stranger's UNMARKED "taxi". He used to do this thing to me when we lived in Peoria. We were young, and unmarried at the time. We lived on the third floor of an apartment building. There were only three other tenants on our floor. I had a bad habit of forgetting to lock the door to the hallway. Bob would come home at odd, random times and open the door to our apartment and YELL OUT, "VICTIM OF A VIOLENT CRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was so annoying. Sometimes he would truly startle me and I'd drop stuff or spill my drink... The plan was that this would "scare me straight" into locking the door.

I now lock the door. Not because I'm afraid of violent criminals though. It's more because I don't want Bob to open the door and scare me!!

Maybe I should have yelled that at Bob when he was pushing towards Mr. Gulp!

MEL:banana:

Mel - I've got a story about unlocked doors. I was a freshman at college and left my dorm room unlocked one night. In the middle of the night, my next door neighbor came into our room and climbed into bed with me! She told me to "Scoot over!" I was mostly asleep and moved over. My roommate woke up and asked me who was in bed with me! At that point, I woke up fully and realized that Brooke had come into the wrong room after going to the bathroom and thought she was in her own room. I tried to wake her up and convince her that she was in the wrong room, but she was way too drunk to listen. Finally, my roommate and I had to physically push her out of our room and lock the door behind her. I wonder when she finally made it back to her room....

By the way, has the mail come yet????
