So I've rededicated myself to WISH as of today. I had previously lost fifteen pounds over the course of two months, then proceeded to gain it all back over the course of the last two months. So I'm starting over. I've never kept a journal before, but I hear it helps, and I need all the help I can get. I've decided to name it my uphill battle because my new plan will involve a lot of walking, and I live in a hilly area.

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to use this journal, I'll just make it up as I go along, but I do want to keep track of my measurements as well as my weight.

As of 1/5/04

weight: 165
chest: 38
waist: 32
hips: 43

Here's hoping that all of those numbers go down in the weeks to come!!!

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I want to welcome you to the journal board. I find that keeping a journal helps me. I had planned to go back every so often and re-read my entries. I haven't done that yet but I like the idea of being accountable this way. I hope you find journaling helpful in your weight loss efforts. I wish you every success!

Well I got a new scale yesterday. It will be nice to finally have a consistant reading. My old scale was good for figuring overall weight trends, but not for specifics. So even though it was no my WI day I had to jump on and check it out. Well my new scale says I weight almost 10 pounds less than my old one does. What to do?

Hi Melissa! :wave2: It's certainly better to have a scale that weighs you less! :D Why not weigh something that you know the weight of (like a bag of flour, or a 10 pound sack of potatoes) to check your new scale's accuracy. If it does prove to be accurate, I would just adjust my weight to the new number. (If you're keeping a record of weekly losses, you could keep your old scale for a week to measure the loss for that week.) Hope that makes sense. :D

Well this week stared off well. I stuck to plan really well. Then this weekend a bunch of my friends got together and we spent the weekend at Disneyland. I think I ate the whole park. I had a great time though, so I really don't care. Anyway the new scale tells me that I wiegh the same that I did last week, so I'm happy about that. Now for the measurements, which weren't as good, but I am reporting them faithfully.

Chest: 38 (same)
Waist 33 (+1)
Hips:43 (same)

So I'm hoping for better numbers next week!

Melissa

Somehow my post from last week has gone missing. Oh well. Here's my report for this week. I didn't do a very good job of staying on plan, and TOM is due any time now, but I still lost .8 lbs and I'm at 161.6.

Eating has been tricky for me lately. We're remodling our kitchen, so we'vve been eating out for the majority of our meals. I have been pretty good about my walking though. I try to walk for 20 mins. during my lunch break, and take the dog out for atleast 40 mins. if not more after work. So I like my walking time for the day to be atleast an hour. I think exercise is truely going to be the key to my weight loss.

So here are my numbers this week:

chest: 38
waist: 31
thighs: 41

Here's to seeing smaler numbers next week!!!

that's tough that your kitchen is out of order, but you seem to be doing okay with it! keep up the good work. and great job with the exercise. i'm sure it is helping you. congrats on the smaller numbers, and here's to hoping they keep going down down down! :)

So I guess I know in the back of my head when I re-stared WW last Jan. that my heart really wasn't in it. And wouldn't you know the plan stuck for less than a month. Well swimsuit weather is back and I rally do want to look and feel better so I'm back on the WW wagon. So far I've lost about 6 lbs. Here are my new measurements.

Chest: 38
Waist: 35
Thighs:42

I'll log my new weight next week at my next WI.

Okay my last post was about 9 months ago, so I think it's time for a fresh start. I'm not starting a new thread because I want to see what I have done in the past and not repeat it. My vital info starting today Sunday April 10.

weight 171.8
chest 39
waist 33
tummy 42
hips 44

Melissa

Back on plan for one week and doing alright

Weight 169.1

Chest 38
waist 31
tummy 41
hips 42

It's nice to see progress already. Every little bit gone is less that I have to cram in to my jeans every day.

So it's been almost two years since I've written anything here, and I'm not at my highest weight ever, but I'm close. As of today here are my stats:

weight: 180
bust: 39
waist: 34
tummy 38
hips: 43

I have a new job and I live in a different city then I did last time I was on Weight Watchers, so we'll see if that makes things easier or harder.

Melissa

Okay, it's summer and I have promised myself that I will lose 15 pounds by the time I go to Disney next month. I have already lost 5 of it, so here is where I currently stand:

weight: 180
chest:39
waist: 34
tummy:40
hips:43

I really feel good about things this time around. I have been swimming every day for almost two weeks and doing a great job eating. Let's hope those numbers go down next week!

Melissa

Welcome back!!!! Congrats on losing the first 5 lbs...that can really be an incentive to keep going. You're so lucky to be going to WDW for the free dining! We did it last Sept. and it was awesome. We were able to try several places that we had never been to before.

Stay focused on your goal and you will acheive it! 15lbs. before your trip should really make a difference in your energy level...best Wishes!

Thanks Dee!
You are my my first commenter in two and a half years! Thanks for the kind words!

Hi Melissa, I'll stop by your journal regularly. This has been a great tool for me during the last few weeks. I never thought that journaling would be a key to success, but somehow it makes me more aware and accountable. I try to post on all the new journals. Stop by mine if you have the time.

I Wish you continued success! Denise

So here is this week's update! So far so good!

Great job on the loss of inches! Sounds to me like you're gaining muscle while losing fat. That's terrific!! :thumbsup2
