We will be on the 4 day Dream next month. We are a party of 5 (myself, DH, my mom, DS10 and DS4). This will be the kids first cruise and we don't do many beach vacations so I think they will be most interested in beach days for our cruise over other expensive excursions. Anyone have recent experience with the Melia resort and day passes? I was just planning to get them that day in case weather is an issue. What is all included (ie towels, loungers, pool, changing area/bathrooms, any snorkeling or sand toys?). Also, what would be the best way to get there. We are not used to using any kind of public transportation so it would have to be easy. Thanks for any tips!

I haven't done a day pass at Melia Nassau but I was there for a business conference. It was not a good experience. Food was terrible. Service was horrible. Facilities were run down. Bathrooms closest to the beach were closed or out of order while we were there. I would never go back.

Beaches excursions you can book on a Dream cruise: Atlantis Beach Day, Blue Lagoon Beach Day (slightly more affordable)...

You can also book (outside of DCL) a day pass at the British Colonial (even more affordable), which is 5-10 min walk from the cruise terminal.

While I have personally always done Atlantis on our own (which can be pricey, but very fun) there have been many posts about the Colonial Hilton with positive reviews over the years.
I'd also recommend Atlantis, if your 4 year old is a strong swimmer. There is really no place like it.
