Megan Has a Question....

Ok I am posting on behalf of my 8 yr old DD. She is very perplexed over this......(and she asked me about this at 11pm last night and I told her I didn't know and could ask.....so just now she came in "Mom - did you ask yet?". I had forgotten LOL).
While we were at DL, Alice in Wonderland broke down and we were part way into the ride and we had to get out and they walked us back down through this back alley thing in the ride.

She is wondering what would happen if Pirates or Splash break down. Do the people have to get out and swim out? (LOL- I know - I know... LOL).
Someone please clear this up for an 8 yr old.....

They have access tunnels for rides that need them. You wouldnt have to swim

You mean the boat goes out the tunnel somewhere?

chances are not. They will more than likely pull you to the side and have you disembark and walk through the area to the tunnel.

You don't really notice, but next to the water rides they have a pathway, so if you're stuck you can be walked out of the attraction, & go through those doorways/tunnels out of the building.

The lucky ones who get to do this get to see a whole different view of the attraction because they usually turn on all the lights.

Long time ago I was on Splash when it broke down and we just stepped out to the side, walked through the set a bit an out a door behind the ride. They took us through one of the CM only doors by the ride back into the park and gave us passes to ride again w/o standing in line later in the day.

Thanks Mary Jo! Meg says hi back! I LOVE that photo - it was so funny - we were right by Mann's theater and we walked over the subway grates, and this happened, and I snapped the photo. It was just like the Marilyn Monroe shot!

We were in Space Mountain when it got stuck. It was amazing with all the lights on! Not such a scary ride!

Neat. I would love to see it when you are going past the big pirate ship - would love to see what all of that looks like in the light!
