OK, this installment took longer than I thought it would, BUT it didn't take as long as the last one did!

Anyway, on with it...
I left off just after I had talked to Wendy on the phone. After leaving the Animation Studio store, we headed over to Star Tours and grabbed a FP. We then headed to Muppetvision 3D while we waited for our FP to become active. After Muppets we went back and hit Star Tours. I had to take a pic of this shirt because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
But I dont wear a lot of T-shirts, and I rarely wear black T-shirts, at least not in the summer, so I just couldnt justify buying it.
We talked to Wendy again, and her and the UM fam were headed back into the park. We met up with them right between the big hat and the main street. As we met up with them, a father and son approached us. DH thought they knew Wendy, but they didnt. At any rate, he ended up offering the son a pin, which he accepted but asked, rather rudely, for a different one instead. DH agreed though, and the strangers left without saying thank you.

Anyway, Wendy and her family had a couple of things they needed to get done before dinner and Fantasmic, so we headed off to take care of a couple of things ourselves.
I had a FP for Tower of Terror burning a hole in my pocket, so we went to cash it in. After that, we did a bit of shopping and then just sat on a bench near the Chinese theater to people watch since it wasnt time for our Brown Derby ADRs yet. We finally headed over to Brown Derby, where we were greeted by some very friendly CMs and seated pretty promptly from what I can recall.
We had good service and a nice meal. We wanted to try this place out, and Im glad we did. We really enjoy Sci Fi and 50s Prime Time, and we will probably continue to hit those more often than anything else at this park, but I would definitely return to Brown Derby. I actually think the appetizers were my favorite part of this meal. Heres what we had.
DH's appetizer - Blue Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Potato Crust, savoy cabbage slaw, dijon mustard and remoulade sauces...YUM!
And mine - Barbecue Kurabota Pork Belly with teppan seared sea scallop, gingered butternut squash and crisp shallots - YUMMY!
And this was my dinner, Grilled Atlantic Salmon on soft mascarpone polenta with gorgonzola, balsamic glaze and Sicillan olive tapenade - good, but filling! I couldn't finish it. (I needed room for dessert.

)
I don't know why, but I didn't take a pic of DH's dinner.
But here's dessert!
His, the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower on cocoa almond cookie and bananas "foster"
And mine, the Grapefruit Cake - A Brown Derby Original! Light Layers of Yellow Cake with fresh Grapefruit Cream Cheese Icing
Both yummy. I wish I had either one of them right now.
After dinner, we headed over to the Backlot Tour, and when we were getting off the ride, it started to pour down rain hard! We waited it out under cover of the studio catering company and the gift shop across the way, and as is the case so often in Florida, we didnt have to wait too long, and we were on our way again.
We saw Wendy again, and I gave her one of the pins she needed that we had traded for. We did a bit of shopping, got some water and my monopod from the locker and had a seat while we waited for Wendy and her family to arrive at the Fantasmic package entrance up at the front of the park.
Once everyone had gathered, we headed down the path to the Fantasmic theater. We found a seat down front and on the right side and visited while waiting for the show to start. I dont remember exactly what we talked about, but I have to say that we really enjoyed our time with Wendy and her family. Wendy we miss you!
We also got to meet another DISer while we were waiting celerystalker! It was so nice to meet you too. We chatted for a few minutes, and she had to rejoin the rest of her party.
And now, on with the show
I do love this show!!!
After the show was over, we wandered out. Wendy was meeting up with yet another DISer, Mommy Poppins. And I got to meet another lovely DISer. We took our time wandering out of the park, and we said our good-byes to Wendy and her family.
We hopped on the tram, got back to our van, and back to the hotel, where this was waiting for us...
Once there, I did a little DIS-ing, loaded my pics onto the computer, and had a snack, before turning in.
Up next
another DIS meet in honor of the closing of VMK Central at MK.
