OK another newbie question, for WDW there is a really awesome character guide on Kennythepirate.com

Is there anything similar for Disneyland and CA? I just stumbled upon meeting Olaf. My daughter especially LOVES princesses, Jessie the cowgirl (does she meet in California) and Disney Jr. Characters.

Any advice on how to find them or a good character locator?

Are there specific characters you're looking for? The Big 5 can usually be found in Town Square (right now in their 60th outfits). They can also be found in Toon Town in different outfits. Pooh and friends are at Pooh Corner. Tiana (is Louis back yet?) has been on the Mark Twain while it is docked. There are princesses at Princess Fantasy Faire. Tinker Bell and friends are in Pixie Hollow. Sometimes Peter Pan is there, too, sitting on the rocks. Alice and the Mad Hatter do musical chairs in the afternoon at Refreshment/Coke Corner. Meeting characters at DLR is more relaxed than it is at WDW and can be spontaneous.

I was just most concerned with princesses who meet outside Fantasy Faire (Like Tiana), Toy Story Characters (is there any chance to see Jessie?), and Disney Jr. meet and greets.

Where exactly is Pooh corner? I'm assuming beside the ride...

Tiana is on the Mark Twain right now. (At least, that's where we've been seeing her recently.) Pooh Corner is between the exits to the Pooh ride and SM.

Pooh Corner is in the middle of Critter Country. You can walk the perimeter of Critter Country in 2 minutes, you won't miss it. If Jessie is meeting that day she'll be listed in the app. The list time for the princesses that meet outside, so you can figure out the general rotation.

I don't know if Jessie also hangs out in Frontierland, but I've run into Woody doing a meet and greet there, right by Frontierland Shootin' Exposition.

Jessie and Woodie used to switch with eatch other by BTR, but obviously that's gone now. I don't think they've been out as much this year since the area closed. But I did see Jessie by the petrified tree just after Memorial Day before summer was in full swing. If the app says they're out, Frontierland isn't that big, they'll be visible and the huge line shouldn't be hard to spot.

I believe that Jessie has been meeting about every day this summer. She meets at California Adventure on Paradise Pier at the Toy Box which is farther down the path than TSM- just head from TSM towards the Symphony Swings and you will find the spot. I think that her meets for the day have typically been a few sets between 10 and 1. Woody and Buzz can be found having sets there too. I don't think they have been over in DL much- but they are at CA about daily. Tiana has been meeting on the Riverboat at DL since it is docked for construction- she meets a few times a day there, and other times a day Dr. Facilier is meeting there. We are past Disney Jr., but I think you can find Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins over on Hollywood Blvd kind of near the Disney Jr. show. Some of their schedules are pretty consistent. I would suggest getting the app now if you don't have it, and looking at each morning to get an idea of where the most important characters typically are and when, so you can find them when you get there. DLR's app with the character times is much better than WDW's version. You can usually see the full day of times on the DLR app, at least if you check in the morning.

Took a look at the app this morning; it's a great resource. I'll be watching for the next couple days.

Our first park day is Friday, so I just wish I had had some more time to try to research and learn the way of "The Land."

It seems that the characters are very plentiful and that the fab 5 meet in multiple places throughout the parks; that's a plus over WDW.

One other tip - BE EARLY. My understanding is that characters are allowed to remain onstage 30 minutes. The CM "handlers," though extremely polite and courteous, are strict about getting characters off stage at the correct time. Usually there are folks waiting early for the characters to show on stage, and CMs will cut off the line at what they think will take 30 minutes to get through.

A couple of times I approached the CM at the end of the line and asked if i could get in line. A couple times, when they realized I was solo, they let me in, but no one behind me. So I had an opportunity to talk with them and watch them tell folks, sorry, no more, they will be onstage again at (insert time). That has to be one of the toughest CM jobs, telling so many people, no.

Also, even though there is a line forming in the area, ask what people are in line for. I was last in line to meet Nick and Judy, and had people lining up behind me, asking "this is for Anna and Elsa, right?" Their meet and great was close by.

Funny thing, I'd say "no, for Nick and Judy," typical response was "who?"
