Meet the Fockers! We're watching you...

Jo, whose house did you sneak into to get that picture??
We promise not to tell anyone if it's YOUR house!:lmao:
Shhhh it will be our secret :rotfl2:

Well, still no word from the Queen and Prince Philip--I thought they would have called me by now since they are visting VA this week (and I DID enter the contest and all...)
And here I was getting all educated and such about English tea..... Even trying to convert all the dog sweaters to tea COSIES so she would feel right at home....
They haven't called  do they not realise who you are :scared1: how dare they :rotfl2: And good use of the S :thumbsup2

Well, I gotta few more days left, so keep those tips coming in! Maybe I should get a big hat---I see those in all the movies with people meeting the queen. Hmm......I have some Princess Minnie ears!princess:
Oh I'm sure she'd love them and did you know you mustn't say pleased to meet you just say Marm (haven't got a clue how to spell that :rotfl2: ) if you do meet the Queen!

Uh........Is that "marm" as in "Marmalade"??
Or do you mean "ma'am" as is "yes, ma'am"
Why am I not pleased to meet her? She's coming a long way to see me and all!:confused3

Hey, this brings up a question I've had for years.... do we, as US citizens, curtsy when meeting members of the royal family? And does it make a difference whether we're on US or British soil when said meeting occurs? You know, just in case.

V! How are you even containing yourself! TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!

As in Marmalade :thumbsup2 And she should be pleased to meet you shouldn't she :rotfl2:

I saw the Queen when I was about 12 and couldn't get over how small she is and her skin is like porcelain!

:rotfl2: Has that been bugging you for years :rotfl2: I don't think anyone needs to curtsy unless it's an official engagement and it probably doesn't matter who or where you are! I think it's good as it shows good manners, I personally like having a Royal Family although they don't really do anything

And V are you fully packed yet? Are you working today?

Ah yes... I have to be in Norfolk/VA Beach this weekend for my graduation. My folks are coming up from Florida. We had discussed going to Jamestown since they've never been, but I guess Queen E's visit pretty much rules (ha!) that out. I'm dreading the traffic.

As in Marmalade

 Why would I call her jelly?

Well now, she could join our "Short and Sweet club" except that S'late has gone MIA and she has to nominate her and all since she's the leader. I'll put a good word in for her though!:thumbsup2

Hey, the girls and I just had the curtsy question at dinner last night--so it must be on the minds of all Americans! I'm practicing just in case--DD10 is reviewing the "what a girl wants" movie for reference!

Yes, I think having a royal family is cool too.:thumbsup2
Of course, we all love Princesses and Fairy tales on the DIS right?princess:

Gosh, I gotta get to cleaning this house.:laundy:
I am supposed to be paying bills but the Bank of America site is SO slow.....maybe cause I keep coming back to the boards.........

What? I have to nominate the Queen for the Short n Sweet club? Only if she brings one of those scary dolls with a toliet roll in her bum.

Yep. I think it hearkens back to the early Princess Diana days. I'd have given anything to be her back then! Little did I know what was to come.:sad2: So I've worked on my curtsy and I'm ready to use it should the occasion present itself! :thumbsup2

Yes and yes! Only need to throw a couple make-up things in tomorrow morning and we're off!

Oooh, me too! I loved Princess Diana. I woke up at like 3 am to watch her wedding on TV! Sadly, I also woke up that early to watch her funeral services. :sad2:

My mom bought me the coffee table book with all her wedding photos. Oh, my it was so awesome. :cloud9: It struck me odd that she had children as bridesmaids. Jo? Is that a British tradition? :confused3

Do you not have child bridesmaids? My DD's are bridesmaids again this summer, the fourth year in a row  At least it saves me buying them an outfit for the wedding :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

We usually have flower girls (often dressed in white like the bride). My girls (10 and 13)would probably be junior bridesmaids with a different cut of the same color dress as the older bridesmaids.........)
They would LOVE to be in a wedding and hint at it to all the cousins!:thumbsup2

My 2 have been in white for 3 of the weddings but we still call them Bridesmaids! I think we have finally run out of relations/friends for them to be bridesmaids for after this summer :rotfl2: Actually just remembered the photo in my profile was them as bridesmaids last year!

I had to go back to your profile and see the pic again. I just noticed your older DD looks like your DH and the younger one looks like you!! ;) Very cute!
