Meeko's Walt Disney World Trip 2002
Monday
Well, the trip had come to an end. After a slightly more relaxed breakfast at the Mara, it was time for some pictures out by the pool and over in the Savannahs. There was little time left, so the morning was spent just looking around the resort and getting ready to go. After that it was time to leave. Since most of the day was taking pictures, I hope you enjoy this kind of mini photo tour of the resort.
Here is the lobby of the resort. The picture didn't turn out great since the lobby is fairly dark. It actually is very similar to the Wilderness Lodge in the appearance of the lobby.
This picture really shouldn't be here since it was taken on the day before this day, but I thought it should be included in the resort photo tour. Here's King Louie from the Character Caravan. Along with Louie was Meeko, Goofy, and the White Rabbit. I like the Caravan, but I would trade it for EE Mornings in a heartbeat.
Here is the large window in the lobby that looks out over the Savannah. You may not be able to tell from the picture but there are staircases going down each side just beyond where the photo was taken that leads down to where you can see the Savannah.
Here are some of the rooms overlooking the Savannah. Beautiful view but there didn't seem to be much animals out this morning in the area.
Over to the pool. I read that this was the largest single pool in a Disney World resort. It was fairly large. The hot tubs nearby weren't bad either.
Even by the pool there are animals. Here's a flock of flamingos that make their home in a habitat right next to the pool area. This resort is just incredible, you never know what you'll see next.
Speaking of animals, there's no better place to spot animals than right outside the window of your room. These three giraffes came by at least once a day to eat. Only here can you say that you enjoyed watching the daily giraffe feedings from your balcony.
And here is the lobby as you are looking from the Savannah. The fire pit is nearby which was a nice spot to sit and relax. Enjoyed the relaxing spots with animals more though.
Well that's it for this trip. I hope to have another trip comming up in the next few months, so hopefully that'll all come together. Hope you enjoyed all the pics and thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to my reports.
