For those who have been able to book thier excursions - has DCL been able to give you an idea of the excursion times either on their website or in the pack you get sent out?

If you call DCL, they have the times of the excursions.

We are getting to Rome on our own via train as well. I'm sure you have already seen this site, but in case someone else hasn't, I thought I would post it. This is a very clear explanation of how to get to Rome from the Civitavecchia port via train:

Please forgive me because I am sure the answer to this question is already on this thread BUT it is late and I do not feel like reading 10 pages! I called to make a final payment tonight for the 5/26 cruise. (we are now 90 days out). I aksed about making shore excursion ressies etc. on 2/25 (that is the final payment due date) and was told by the CM that even though final was due 90 days prior to sailing we could not make Palo, shore excursions etc. until March 12th which is 75 days before....is this correct?????????

Hi all,

For those of you in the UK, Post which ones you are interested in and I'll find out for you. I know that there is a person on our other thread that has already posted all the times, so I'll look for it. It has been very silly having to make so many phone calls to get the times. Several people have wanted to do multiple excursion in a day and have had conflicts. Esp. those wanting to return for early dinner. I can tell you that some of us who booked for the repo had a difficult time booking online because they were not paid in full. Others who were entirely paid in full couldn't book for nearly a week for reasons that were never explained. They called and sent emails and were very frustrated, so do make sure your account says paid in full.

We are booking tonight at midnight (west coast time) for the first 11 night. Many of us have decided to do Barcelona on our own using the 2 day pass on their bus system. If anyone is interested I can post the details of how it works. It is very cheap and stops at almost every major sight seeing stop. The DCL excursions were so expensive that many of us abondoned them and did our own research. There are many of us also doing Rome on our own by taking the train into town and doing other walking tours etc. Again, if anyone is interested I can post the details of this.

I'll be posting from the boat, so I will post details of what worked an what didn't as we go through the first 25 days onboard. There are 8 families doing the Back to Back cruises (repo and 11 night.) I'd bet there are plenty doing the same on the repo returning to Florida.

That would be great... I live in the US and I really don't want to waste my time calling for tour times. Seems silly to me that they aren't posting the times. There are a lot of tours to be asking for times. JMHO...

The exact meeting times for every Mediterranean shore excursion will be
posted on our website for your cruise beginning on April 29, 2007. If
timing permits and you would like to do two shore excursions in one day,
you may do so but be sure to schedule at least 1 hour between each shore
excursion to allow for possible delays or travel time.

The tentative times for the shore excursions you had a question on are
as follows:

La Spezia Pisa Meet at 8:30 AM 4 - 4.5 hours
Olbia Kayak in Gallura Meet at 8:00 AM or 12:45 PM 4 - 4.5 hours
Naples Italian Island/Beach Resort Meet at 8:00 AM 9 - 9.5 hours
Palermo Mondello Beach Meet at 8:15 AM or 12:45 PM 4 - 4.5 hours
Villefranche Evening Casino Meet at 5:45 PM 4 - 4.5 hours

All onboard services can be booked or cancelled up to 2 days prior to
vacation commencement. Excursions are subject to availability and/or
cancellation based on weather, itinerary changes, and attendance.
Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on
excursions.
