I wish!! I'm looking for a steady work from home career and have a couple of friends that do medical transcription. I would actually rather do legal but not sure how much of a market there is for it. What school do you recommend?
Me!!! I have done this for ten years and went to a local community college for training while pregnant with my son. Have worked at home the entire time even though I was told that I would have to work in an office first for experience. So far, so good, and I just got plain lucky.
I do it part time for an office that I used to work for. I never went to school for it (but I don't think I could ever pick up on a different specialty....I know the terminology for ophthalmology but that is it).
It is a great way to make some extra cash!!
Been an MT for 9 years, 8 at a local hospital and now full-time at home with a national company. Live in KY and create reports for a hospital in Arizona! lol. My account just switched to some speech recognition and I am really enjoying "editing" some reports instead of all typing.
Can anyone give me some information on how to get started, and how to locate jobs? I was told with the speech recognition they are using now, there wasn't a great need for MT's. Also, what companies allow you to work from home??
