I was wondering what you all did for medical insurance while participating in the college program. My son was accepted for the fall program and our insurance will not cover him because he won't be considered a full time student during his time at Disney. Have any of you experienced this and is there a company you went through to receive health insurance/medication? Does Disney offer health insurance while there under the college program? Thanks for any help!!!

Disney doesn't offer anything for the CPs -- we called our insurance agent and got one of the temporary plans - Health Assurant.

my school required a co op so thankfully i was considered a fulltime student and was able to have insurance...

My school did a co-op and we were considered to have 9 credit hours while on the program and so I took another class to stay full time. However I did end up getting extremely sick and spent the 10 days in the hospital while on the program and ended up leaving early because of my condition....so if your son does get sick and I can assure you the hospitals are great..just tell him to go to celebration. But on the insurance you can be sneaky and have him sign up for 12 credit hours online and then have him drop them right after he starts the program so he can get a refund back, a lot of times insurance companies will not notice this for a while and you can get away with it. Another thing would be just to not tell them and if you go to the hospital and it asks for your occupation say you are a full time student.

Our insurance actually requests documentation in writing from the school showing that my son is a full time student so he will end up being dropped for the time he is participating in the college program. Do any of you have just a prescription plan that was inexpensive?
