Medical emergencies at HHN

Do medical emergencies happen at HHN (like people getting so frightened they need help or people falling down trying to get away from the scare actors or asthma attacks)? Is medical attention available?

I'm sure there is medical personnel standing by in case of an emergency. I would imagine an ambulance is there as well. I wouldn't worry about it though...they are behind the scenes but available.

When we did the UTH tour, I remember them saying something about emergency personnel and even paramedics on standby. I believe they have someone at the exit of each house. They can definitely render aid quickly if needed.

We have sadly never been to HHN (But will be there next year ), but my girlfriend got very ill just before we were due to see Blue Man Group on our last Florida vacation. Luckily it was just a mix of heatstroke and exhaustion from doing too much (We were in Florida for 3 weeks), but I cannot stress enough how incredibly professional and caring the Universal medic team were. They spent a good hour+ looking after my missus, and even called an ambulance in to get her hooked up to the machines they carry (Just to double check that it was nothing more serious). My girlfriend only remembered this recently, but they even closed the ambulance door with her inside and asked her whether things were ok with me and her, just in case she needed the police calling due to any possible violence I had caused that she was too scared to mention in front of me . I got chills when she told me about it, but I guess it's a good thing that they do this.
We were gutted that we'd missed the show, but were given a card with customer services telephone number on and told that when my gf was feeling well again, we would be welcome at any other performance. We saw it the next week, and about 3 different members of staff that had helped us that night came up to us to have a chat and see that we were still having a good time.
Universal guest care is INCREDIBLE!

WOW...that is wonderful to hear and I am glad they treated you so well.

Hubby is hestitant about going because I have a condition called tachycardia (which is just a fancy word for saying sometimes heart starts beating really quickly and can be caused by caffeine, stress, extertion) and even though being scared doesn't trigger this, I have never been immersed in something like HHN.

I have only required medical attention once and it was just for monitoring (no drugs are required to stop this condition). It doesn't stop my life and I don't think this is a reason to miss what sounds like a wonderful event. I think hubby is just looking out for me.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I have a similar condition and am on meds so I'm not concerned. You should be fine!

Excellent! When you have your dates secured, make sure you post on the HHN dates thread so you can see who else is going to be there that night. Lots of us go and have mini-meets in the holding area.

Not that this was a medical emergency but just to give some info....
Last year one of my friends joined us for HHN and wore flip flops(don't ask me why...she should know better). Anyway, while going through one of the houses someone in the line stepped on her foot. We didn't notice until we left the house that she was bleeding pretty badly. One of the employees at the exit noticed her foot and pulled us to the side. She called someone on her radio and within about 3 minutes a medic showed up with a first aid kit. They cleaned up her foot and gave her a bandage and we were on our way in minutes. So rest assured, they have medical staff at the ready....even if you are just silly and decide to wear flip flops!(How can you possibly run from chainsaw wielding maniacs in flip flops!!!???!?)

My wife tripped over a piece of pavement that was sticking up (it still is, we checked) and skinned her knees and toes up. Like was posted earlier, a medic showed up and took care of her on the spot. You may not see them but they are within a radio call away.

I almost always wear flip flops and have survived mostly unscathed. The only time I had a problem was when one idiot teeny bopper in front of me kept running backwards into me and didn't listen when I finally told her to knock it off. I think she thought is was funny, so the next time I gave her a kick and she said "Ouch!" Then she did it again and got a harder kick...and also got the hint and didn't come near me again. Come to think of it, she's lucky that I was wearing flip flops because my tennis shoes would have left a bruise after the first warning and warning kick.

HHN is truly a beast of its own when it comes to staffing. There is always a Health Services TM at the exit of every house. In addition, there are many that roam the park. If you're not near a haunted house/show, find any TM, preferably one with a radio, and they will get Health Services to you.

In the case of medical emergencies, ambulances can be called. Health services, security & OPD are everywhere, so you can always find someone to help.
