Just wondering which would be a better option for 1 person since I don't have experience with either.
I am traveling from MCO to AoA. Thanks.

Mears Connection would be my choice. Costs about $13.00 o/w which is relaxing and cost effective from my POV.

ETA: Oops. $13.00 is the children’s price. Adult price is $16.00 o/w

SW pax have to claim their bags, go back up to level 3, schlep diagonally across the terminal then go down to level 1.

I'd pay the extra money for convenience and time. No checked luggage? Maybe Mears

This is an excellent point. We have done this exact trek the past couple of times and it is a pain. We are going to use Uber next month. Not to mention, on our last visit, we waited over an hour to get on a shuttle from Mears. I am sure that is not the typical experience as it is by far the longest we have ever waited, but it was frustrating.

I guess this will depend on age and party size but with 2 adults, in their 30s/40s, and healthy... claiming luggage and going to Mears is not that big of a hassle IMO.

I'd go with Mears.
Just easier IMO.
And its like $33 round trip vs I'm not sure of the cost of an uber/lyft.
Time is money.

Mears you need to wait until they decide the shuttle is full enough to run and you can stop at multiple resorts before you get to yours, correct? Vs. Uber which would leave when you're loaded and take you right to your resort. That could save you as much as an hour. Unless Uber is $75+, I'd do it.

There were occasions when I used Mears, they put us in a van instead of a bus. There were just two families in the van. So we did not wait for very long and we didn't go to multiple resorts. I don't know if they still do this and it probably just depends on your luck. Uber is at least twice the cost of Mears for one person, so OP just needs to decide if the money is worth for the convenience of less wait.

I've heard that about Mears (van vs bus), but don't think you can count on it. But yes, each person would need to decide if taking a longer trip is worth the lower cost.

It would appear from googling that the average uber from MCO to POLY (where I'm staying) is $47. So kind of a lot when you're only one person compared to Mears.
I get the time is money thing but to me taking Mears isn't a bad alternative.

Agreed. We’ve taken taxis and the bus to our hotel and no idea if we’ve been lucky but we rarely wait longer than 10 minutes for the bus and tend to be one of the first stops. For us it works plus we’ve some extra cash left in our pockets. Keep in mind, we’re used to public transport although Mears is more comfy.

We used Mears to go from MCO to AoA in February and it was a great experience. We walked up to the counter, they checked us in, and we were on a bus less than five minutes later. We had one stop before AoA. Cheap, easy, and comfortable.

We are done with Mears. For starters, it's no DME. We found the people working in the airport lining up the buses to be unfriendly, if not downright rude. There are no Disney videos on the buses, the driver got us there but wasn't exactly friendly or helpful, and the whole experience was far from "Magical". It was the RETURN trip to the airport that did it though. The driver was 45 minutes late picking us up, making us wait in the cold early morning hours in front of the resort when we could have waited up in the room (we had an 8a flight - so REALLY early morning!). He offered no apology for being late, then proceeded to make 3 more stops on the way to the airport. To top it all off, he played Christian Rock for the duration of the trip. We wrote to Mears to voice our concerns and got no response. I don't know if we'll use Uber, a limo service or rent a car, but we DEFINITELY won't be using Mears!

When traveling solo, it comes down to when I’m arriving. If my only plan is to unpack and relax, I’ll go with Mears. I like the bus experience and anticipation. If I’m planning on a park or meal, then I usually Uber to save time.

Mears is cheaper and reliable, but slower. I've also had bad luck getting smaller, cramped vans on the way back to MCO at the end of a trip.

Uber is worth the extra cost to me. You can get them at all times, and the price is about $40 each way.
