Hi folks,

I am reserving my Mears shuttle for the return flight from the Swan to the Airport. I know they recommend being at the airport 2 hrs before the flight, so we'd like to get there around 7:30am. Is it likely for the Mears bus to take closer to 30 or 60 minutes to get to the airport? I know they say allow for "up to" an hour but 6:20 seems very early and I'd love to book 6:50. Any thoughts?:moped:

When I had a non Mears car service, they would not pick you up less than x time before your flight. We did 2 hours and I think that was the shortest. So I guess it depends on what time your flight is. And what your risk tolerance is. Are you already planning to arrive 2 hours before your flight?

Somehow four hours before your flight stands out in my mind from before they invented Magical Express. Mears' shuttles tend to make a lot of stops between Disney and the airport.

There were also occasional threads here (on The DIS) about guests getting anxious because the Mears bus or van "went way out of its way for another stop" and was taking much longer to get to the airport than expected.

Plan on an hour. I would rather have extra time to kill at the airport than worry about being late. I would be picked up 3 hrs prior to the flight. How many are in your group? If there are 3+, you may be better off using a car service. Then you canes e 2.5 hrs before.

Mears actually doesn't let you reserve anything less than a 2 hour and 45 min before your flight pick up. I guess you could lie about your flight time when making the reservation if you really didn't want to get picked up that early.

Yup I found out I couldn't make it any less than 2 hrs and 45 mins before the flight time. (The time I wanted was 2 hr, 40 mins). No biggie- we're going to be exhausted anyway, what's another 30 minutes? MK has their EMH the night before, so we'll be 6 days into the trip, and out at MK till 1am, and picked up at 6:20 a.m. As I wrote in CAPS on the itinerary I gave my mom, "We will be tired but it will be WORTH IT!"
