Hey guys

A year out and I'm deep into planning our trip to WDW and i've come across my options for visiting the non-Disney parks. Straight off, i want to exclude renting a car or using the slow Lynx buses.

i keep hearing that Mears offer a Daily shred shuttle for $19 each return from Disney resorts to the likes of Universal and Seaworld.

Has anyone got any experience in using this service?

I hear you only need to book the night before and call 2 hour before wanting to get collected.

We used the Mears shared shuttle last year to travel between POFQ & Universal. We paid for it through Virgin Holidays and I think it was some like $19/20 each.

We had to phone the evening before to confirm the details - time & place of pick-up and drop-off etc.

I was also given the option to either arrange a collection time from Universal while on the phone, or phone from Universal on the day. I arranged on the phone because I had an idea of when we wanted to be back at Disney, but the girl advised if we needed to change the time to callback at least a few hours before the arranged pick-up time.

The shuttle arrived on time at the front doors of POFQ. It was one of the mini buses that holds about 9 people over 3 rows of seats. There was another couple already in the shuttle who were being dropped off at Discovery Cove before us.

I would recommend it. It was convenient, the driver give us some great tips & info and showed us where to go to be picked-up.

P.S. The shuttles drop-off/pick-up in the Coach & Bus area. All the stops are numbered so the driver will just tell you what number to wait at. To get into Universal itself, you walk to the top of the bus/coach stops, and there is either a set of stairs and/or escalators (I really can't remember, was too excited, but I am almost certain there was escalators) and possibly lifts. You make your way along the covered walkway, through CityWalk, past the famous Universal globe to reach the ticket gates.

We use them every holiday and has always been a good experience. Usually a minibus with maybe 1 or 2 other parties on board so pretty swift to destination. I would definitely recommend them.

Many thanks to the both of you for your replies. Sounds like this will be the best course of action in my trip. It will certainly cover the bulk of my trips including seaworld, universal and discovery Cove.

I'm also planning one day where we do a surprise sky dive in the morning and a trip to The Orlando 360 attractions in the afternoon so I can imagine I'll need to budget quite a bit more for those trips

We've always used Mears and it's been great. Am thinking of checking out 'Uber' on our next trip too, a taxi service where you know the cost before you set off. It looks like it might be a bit cheaper than Mears for some of the journeys.

Another yes vote. Used them for the first time last year when we stayed at AoA as it was our first trip without a car. We got Disney concierge to phone for us (save money on my phone bill) and we arranged our return journey at the same time. Although there were a few pick ups it's excpected and you do get dropped a bit closer as the car parks are far from the park.and yes it was 20 bucks per person. Enjoy!
