Good Morning Everyone!

Wow, anyone else have severe storms last night?

They broke through normal broadcasting - even on cable - a few minutes after 8 last night to tell us that there were severe storms and a tornado warning for areas around Richmond. They said there was a "radar detected" tornado (which means it is very low in the atmosphere but not necessarily on the ground yet) in Goochland (funny name for a town isn't it?) and it was headed through, plus 3 other storms in it's line that could spawn tornados including one showing hurricane strength winds!

The weather dude was trying to show the path of the cells causing the radar detected tornados - he was highlighting actual street names so you would know precisely who was in the path. Then he did it - popping up on the screen was my little 1/2 mile long street highlighted for all to see.. Auntie Em, Auntie Em.. Grab Toto, there's no place like home!!

We went ahead and got all the birds downstairs in the basement so if we had to we could just grab the dogs and run for it.

Luckily for us the "tornado" didn't hit ground and moved right over us. I do think it freaked Matt out a bit though. I was okay because I have been in the middle of an actually tornado before and that took away all my fear - I'm more fascinated now :)

Well, I've been rambling on and on - Pop Daddy is going to come and get me!

On to the poll!

"What is the best movie series? (any movie that had more than 1 sequel)"

I really like Police Academy & National Lampoons, but I voted Police Academy:D

Star Wars! But LOTR and Indy are a close second.

I voted for Lord of the Rings - an amazing trilogy, but Star Wars was a very close second and Indy was a very close third.

Lauri, I'm glad the tornado missed you! I would have been totally freaked out and hiding in the basement closet!!

I voted for Indy Jones, you can't get any better than that. I really thought LOTR was horrible. Perhaps if they had made it into 6 movies instead of 3, I could have sat through it.

We had bad weather here too. No tornadoes, but we were under a warning for awhile and the sirens went off twice.

Nope, no storms here yesterday. I'm glad y'all are ok, Lauri.

It was tough to choose between Indy and Lethal Weapon, but I chose Indy.:)

Vacation! Had to choose it because I definitely need some laughs. Those movies will do it for me. :teeth:

Wow! Glad you, Matt, and the menagerie are okay, Lauri! YOU HAVE A BASEMENT? I'm jealous!!! True...you're not on the coast. I guess we just have ocean water under our dirt. Hmmm...I suppose me, DS, and the two dogs are confined to the inner downstairs bathroom in a tornado. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I absolutely LOVE the Vacation movies!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Back to the Future is 2nd.

I am going after work to buy the Lord of The Rings Trilogy for DH's birthday today. I have been calling all over town to find where it is cheapest. I am getting it at Best Buy b/c I have 5.00 left on a gift card. Today is his birthday. We are going out for dinner and then will come back home for cake and ice cream w/ the parents. :sunny:

We had some bad storms last night too. We never got into tornado warnings, but it was pretty nasty w/ high winds and all that. There was a tree that fell on our road, luckily it was over to the side so we could still get by. I think they are calling for them again tonight. I keep waiting for a storm to knock the power out during the night so I could sleep in one morning w/ a good excuse for being late to work. (alarm doesn't have a battery backup):teeth:

The Thin Man movies from back in the day, starring William Powell and Myrna Loy :)
