"Which natural meteorlogical..what to call it.. "event" scares you the most?"

  • Thunder - I know it can't hurt me but those loud booms out of nowhere scare the bejeebers out of me

  • Lightning - scarier than big natural disasters because it happens so much more often and you can't k

  • Monsoon strength winds - the thought of them blowing trees over and roofs off of buildings.. yikes

  • Hurricanes - unless you are not on the coast and don't have to worry

  • Tornados - I used to be scared to death until I was in one... now I'm fascinated by them

  • earthquake - whole lotta shakin' going on!

  • Floods - never understood how fast they could take over towns until I saw a video of it recently.. s

  • Droughts - well, because all that work I did on my lawn and now it's turning into hay because of wat

  • Mud Slides - not much worry of them here but the videos are scary!

  • Wild Fires - horrible how the carelessness of one person causes all this destruction - well, okay -

  • Global warming - hey, I had to throw this in to keep the poll PC

I live in Bon Air and there wasn't hardly a drop of rain there! It was crazy!

Froggy - thanks for the explaination of where the gravel came from! I thought I was going crazy. It wasn't like there were gravel shoulders on the roads..lol That could be dangerous with that stuff flying off of the roofs!

And Jeff.. I figured that would be your fear. You know, Cotton Candy kind of resembles a tornado when it is twirled on those paper cones!
 
Had a freak hail storm come through a couple months ago. It appeared so suddenly that the local meteorologists were caught off guard. It did about $2,000 worth of damage to my new Outlander!! :eek:
 
Lightening as it's a regular kind of thing, other things scare me too, but they are more one off kind of things

My parents live in Bon Air! Right behind St Edwards.
 

Tidal waves scare the daylights out of me!...Not that I have seen any, but I have had re-ocurring dreams of a tidal wave covering my house since I was a kid!!
