TGIF everyone!

Finally! The end to another week! Anyone have any big plans for the weekend? I'm bumming. This is the first weekend in a long time that I don't have any looming projects or visitors coming so it will be NICE!

Well, on to the poll. I got the inspiration for today's poll yesterday when I had some candy I haven't had in a longgggg time! PopRocks!

So today's poll is -

"What novelty candy did you love as a kid that you would like to try again now?"

To make this poll a little different - I'm letting you vote on as many options as you like - I figured the trip down memory lane might be a little too difficult to narrow down!

*novelty equals not chocolate and there was a gimmick behind it

Those little wax bottles because my grandfather used to give them to me.

I picked "other." One of my favs as a kid was sticks of licorice I could buy for a penny.

Wax bottles, pixie stix, candy cigarettes, and blow pops.

I also liked those pink candies that kinda tasted like Pepto Bismol. My grandpa used to buy them for me and my brother all the time.

Okay, I'm weird, lol. I got stuck on the "...would you like to try again". I liked several of those when I was a kid, but I have no interest in eating of them now, lol.

I voted for Pop Rocks, but reading your list was really fun! I had forgotten about the Gold Rush gum! I used to love that stuff too! Pixie stix were also great!

I loved almost all of those! I voted for the dippin' sticks. I know they still make them, but I just can't eat as much sugar as I used to


There also used to be a candy that where different fruit flavors, they came in a long clear sleeve. I rember banana, strawberry, watermelon - gosh, great description huh, I'm sure you all know exactly what I'm talking about? lol

My fave was Bonomo turkish taffy - loved that stuff. We had a little corner store that pretty much took me out of commission each week after I got my allowance - I would buy up all their taffy.

I used to love the Pez dispenser candy.

I voted for Pop rocks. I bought some a couple of months ago and followed it with some Dr. Pepper. I gave some to my dog---she loves it.

That wax whistle thing that was something like a pan flute. The wax had a really good taste.

I know this is weird but I used to get a candy called "Botan" It is a Japanese Rice candy wrapped in edible rice paper. I ca sometimes get it at an Oriental store or at EPCOT.

I also love Gummi Baren (gummy bears) and used to buy them all the time when I lived in Germany 25 cents for 100 pieces. Now I can get them at the German deli, a small bag for almost $3.
