I am trying to plan for our May 2009 trip. We will be traveling with our 2 year old twins so I really feel the need to have a plan (besides it seems that reservations are a must!).
So far I made reservations at Chef Mickeys for breakfast and I am considering Crystal Palace since the kids know Pooh and friends.

Questions:
Are two character meals too much?
Is it reasonable to plan breakfast in our room, lunch as counter service, and a sit down dinner?
How we would get from the WL to AKL for dinner at Boma and how much time should we allot?
Is Jinko inappropriate with 2 year old twins?
The kids are used to going out for meals and are generally well behaved (most of the time  )
Thanks for the advice - I am a newbie but really excited about this trip and want to make a great one!!!

Hope this helps a little. We have done Disney and Universal with our kids (all under the age of 5) and the character meals are the ones that see to go the best. There is so much to watch for them that they were always calm and entertained. My youngest (2) did not go close to some of the bigger characters but she loved the experience. I would highly rec. character meals.

We usually eat oatmeal in our room (instant and hot water from the coffee pot) hit the parks, counter lunch, LONG NAP, sit down dinner and it works great. The LONG NAP is the most inportant part of the trip - schedule it in everyday.

As much as we want to do nice sit down meals we opt for more character meals because it keeps them so entertained.

Your 2 year olds are going to love disney - have a great trip.

Only you know if two character meals is too much. Be flexible. If they cry and scream at the first one, cancel the second one.

Entirely reasonable, and sensible.

Bus to any park or Downtown Disney, then bus to AKL. MK probably makes the most sense, and you have the option of the launch.

The only restaurant entirely inappropriate for a child (or two, or more) that age is Victoria & Albert's because they do not allow anyone under ten. Another probably inappropriate restaurant would be Bistro de Paris because they do not have a childrens menu. Anything else is fair game, including Jiko.

We were there a few weeks ago with our daughter who will be 3 in February. She is used to going out to eat and usually well behaved at restaurants. We did 3 character meals and she loved them all. She has no fear of characters. I would highly recommend Crystal Palace. We had great character interaction and the food was good. She loved it. We did 1 table service (sit down) a day and that worked well, so I think you have the right idea. Lunch worked best for us for the sit down as far as her moods went (less tired), but that will probably depend on your kids' personalities. For us, with the time difference, a small breakfast in the room worked best. The one morning we had a sit down breakfast, it was not easy getting her up and moving to get there.
