We are going to WDW on SUnday :cool1: there are 7 in our family. We have 2 charecter b'fast reservations for Cinderella and Chef Mickey.

We do not have any reservations for any other meals. Are we in big trouble if we want to eat at anything othe than counter service and food court? Dh is not helping plan and is being a PITB.

We would love to eat at SciFi.

WHAT SHOULD I DO????????????

Why don't you give them a call & see if you can make some ADRs. I've never gone for President's Day week but it's probably pretty crowded. My DS told me there are a lot of kids from his school going next week. If you call now, maybe you can relax knowing you've got some meals planned. :) Good luck & have a fantastic time!! pixiedust:

you can go ahead and make a best guess of what you will be doing keeping in mind it might change so you dont freak out if it does and make some more adrs. Most adrs are not a commitment from you...some are pay in advance and some are ccredit card guarenteed incase you dont show but most they just take your name. Then you have them if it works out. Please remember to be considerate though and if you know you wont be doing something cancel the adr. While we walked into le cellier and teppanyaki last year at off times, we couldnt get into boma's, Jikos we walked up they werent taking in more walk ins exactly but made a reservation for soonest possible - 2 hours later (9pm) then still waited more than 30 min to get seated after that. Brown Derby we went and got a reservation for a few hours later in the day and had a good wait when we got to that time. There was another restraunt we tried but i don tremember what that we couldnt get in. And even with an adr the wait at Crystal Palace was close to 30 min....enough time to go over to main street jewlers and back. so having some in place is a good idea.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and make some ADR's! Sit down and try to figure out where you are going to be around lunch and dinner and make some ressies.
I have traveled to WDW many many times and I never seem to make allot of good decisions in my life BUT having ADR's in WDW when you have a large # of people is :thumbsup2 very IMPORTANT. You have walked all day, waited in long lines, you are all tired, the LAST thing you want to do is go restaurant to restaurant TRYING to get a table and having to be told either NO, we are full tonight or the wait is 2 hours long. AND THEN YOUR HUNT CONTINUES...whether DH is a pain or not JUST YOU DO IT!!! Everyone will be patting you on the back when you annouce WE HAVE RESSIES esp if you are all TIRED.
I was in WDW in Jan 2006 (AKL) and so many people thinking they can get a table easily and just get told NOT TONIGHT or 1-2 hr wait and heads hang and they leave. You are not locked in to anything unless it is a restaurant that requires a c.c....look in some of your Disney books and make ressies.
GOOD LUCK....and for the record my DH can be a poop BUT he loved AND saw the IMPORTANCE of ressies. :Pinkbounc

Yep. I'd say you are, as you put it, "in big trouble," if you don't make some reservations in advance. When the parks are crowded, it is important to have reservations for meals because the counter service places will be packed.

Plan your itinerary in advance, and make reservations to match where you plan to be at dinner times. Everyone in your party will enjoy their day in the park so much more if you do this.

Enjoy.

Ive been trying to hammer out a plan and just cannot for the life of me get it. I know my kids will want to do MK the first day which is a Monday and the busiest day at MK, so Im afraid to go on a Monday :headache: Then, I have no idea if they will make it all day enough to have a table dinner. I have a 2 year old, twins who just turned 6, Dh, me and 2 grandparents.

Im panicing!! I havent been to Disney since I was eleven and that was the year that EPCOT opened!

What if we have reservations and we have to pack up and go in the hotel early?

I am freaking out here

Should I just call the restaurants that I think we want to try and see what nights (if any) they have open?

Yes, you should.

The next few days are going to be VERY busy at WDW, starting tomorrow and lasting until at least Thursday. I'd get on the phone now and make whatever you think you'd like.

TENNIS MOM: Are you getting PARK HOPPER tickets....no problem, spend a day in a Park say MK and at the end of the day it is kinda fun to say to all...okay we will need to be at EPCOT tonight for dinner at such and such time.
With the # of people you have going...you should sit down and hammer out a schedule like now and then call for ADR's!!! With HOPPING you can be anywhere during the day and someplace else at night for dinner!!!
When we were there in Jan., I made ADR's for Boma in the AKL, my DH wanted to change it to Brown Derby, no problem (we did it around noon on our cell) by 3pm we cancelled that and got dinner for 7pm at the Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. So you can change things up from time to time. Just having nothing is no good.....!!!! :hyper:
