Hi! I was hoping I could get some suggestions for a good table service meal. Since we'll be using the dining plan, this is a good excuse to try some new places.

We will be there for 6 nights. We always do Chef Mickey and Sci Fi. We are adding Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare (anyone know if Cinderella is ALWAYS there for dinner?). So, I need two more places to try. We've basically only experienced Sci Fi, Chef Mickey's and Cindrella's Royal Table on our other trips, and would love something new this time.

We are traveling with 4 children, one of whom is autistic and will basically only eat mac and cheese or a hot dog. A character meal would be nice, but not necessary since we're already doing a bunch. Dh and I would like to be able to enjoy some good food on this trip:-).

So all you Disney Experts...any advice on my last two meals? Oh, they can be either lunch or dinner.

TIA

I really like the Liberty Tree Tavern. It is a Character meal, that is a buffet dinner served family style which I love because it eliminates everyone getting up and down making plates and there is more time that can be spent together at the table chatting about the day, or whatever- it is also easier with small children. The menu is Steak, ham, turkey served with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, macaroni and cheese, maybe another veggie but I am not sure, oh there is also salad and rolls served before and the desert, we had warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream but the menu on allears says that the deserts are changed seasonally. The food is definitely not gourmet but it is family pleasing feel good food, the character interaction here is great as well.

If you are planning on being there for MNSSHP book early as it tends to fill up fast...It is also the only restaurant where the characters will be dressed in Halloween Costumes.

Le Celler & Chef De France are the best meals we ever had in WDW. Not stuffy at all.

I would suggest Ohana. We really enjoyed the food there. The view is great. There were lots of things to entertain the kids.

You said one of your children were autistic......you can order from the menu at Kona if he will only eat mac n cheese and hot dogs. And I would mabye request a table not up front where there is so much action.

Our favorites are Ohana breakfast, Crystal Palace, Teppanyaki and LeCellier. These are absolute must do's for us.

BTW, there is going to be a new Toy Story character meal @ MGM starting April 1st. This is going to be a hot ticket!

Also, don't forget the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We are doing Hollywood & Vine (which is going to be the new Toy Story character meal) and get the Fantasmic seats. Just a thought.

Also, you may want to consider a dinner show. Aloha, Backyard BBQ or Hoop-de-doo review. Great fun!

You seem to have a lot of buffets so I won't suggest Boma, which BTW is a great place to eat. Other suggestions would be "Ohana, Le Cellier, Teppanyacki or Whispering Canyon

I would suggest Kona- I've had some of my favorite meals there! IMO, 'Ohana is not as good as it used to be. (It used to be our #1 favorite must-go-every-trip place) In December, I went (with an open mind) and it was far inferior. Dessert was good though.
I also second Boma!

Forgot about that one. Though we have not eaten there, I have read a ton of positive reviews of this place. Much more than for any other restaurant. This will be a must stop on our next trip.

Kona - the kids all love the Kiddie Kone dessert. It's basically an ice cream sundae in a waffle cone surrounded by cotton candy and decorated with candy. You can't beat that if you're a kid. Oh and the sticky wings are fantastic! They also have mac and cheese and other kid favorites.

I think Cindy is there as much as she can be, if that makes sense, maybe is she has the flu she is replaced if there isnt another "cindy". The prince was out the night we went so we had snow white instead with cindy. We really enjoyed it and the food was good too.

Thank you ALL for the wonderful suggestions. I knew you could steer me in the right direction. Now we have a few months to ponder and make some decisions.
I'll have to check out the ADR times for all of these, so I don't miss out.

We like Jiko and also Citricos is very good food and they are superb with the children - if you book it late you can see the fireworks at MK while you eat

Our faves are:

MK:
LTT - dinner is good, lunch looks to be more relaxed with still a great menu

Epcot:
Garden Grill - very good, homey food here. But my kids (DH too!) love it here
Le Cellier - we really had a bad experience here in 2000, but we are giving it a try this December.
Marrakesh - VERY good food and plenty of it. A hidden jewel

MGM:
We just don't like much here. The new character meal sounds interesting if it's open by the time you go.

Cape May Cafe at Beach Club - good dinner buffet and character breakfast

I'd love to do Citrico's too, but we are always on the run and never really appropriately attired. At least in my opinion.

I have always heard that Spoodles has an interesting menu over on the BW but we have never been there.

I definatley would recommend Crystal Palace, 'Ohana and Le Cellier.

My son is also diagnosed in the autism spectrum (PDD-NOS). He was leary of the characters at some of the meals but none of the atmospheres bothered him. Also, each place has fairly good menus for kids and most places are pretty accomodating.

Check out the restaurant menus over at allearsnet.com to take a look at what each place has to offer!

Have a wonderful trip!!!

Oh yes I forgot about Spoodles - that's yummy - very large portions though

My favorite food in Disney World was an unexpected suprise, since I only eat junk food and Burger King and McDonalds! lol, not really but I'm a picky eater...
Morocco in Epcot has the BEST FOOD EVER!!! We ate there only because we were starving and that was the closest place with the least crowds. They are awesome have the best food I've tasted in years... And it's chicken and rice, etc.. but the way they make it.. YUM!
