DH and I are possibly planning a trip for the beginning of January (short notice - I know) and are debating on the meal plan. We had it for our honeymoon a few years ago and could barely use it all.

Now if we go, we'd be bringing our 15 month old. If we order the meal plan for the 2 of us, how does it work for him to eat too? Does he get included or do we have to pay OOP? Thanks!

If you eat at buffets, children under 3 eat "free". If you eat at a sit down meal, they have to dine off your plate or you pay OOP for a kids meal.

I think the basic DDP is more than enough food. If you do one sit down dinner per night that gives you plenty of flexibility with your schedule.

For our last trip this past Nov, I used my Disney Rewards (Disney Visa Rewards) on my DS1's food. He's sleep during our TS lunch, then wake up and I'd get him a pizza or a hotdog. So it was OOP, but not really out of my pocket :rotfl2:

We also do a LOT of character meals which are buffet or all-you-care-to-enjoy so DS1 gets a "free" meal.

Also plan on bringing lots of snacks with you. I always bring fish crackers, club crackers and those mini juice boxes.
