Meal Plan Question

I am buying my dh a dis vaca for xmas, i want to have everything bought for 12/25, (we arent going until May) I was going to purchase my tickets for the park at ticketmania, my question is, if I purchase them from ticketmania, I was only planning on getting the park hopper option, can I go back at a later time and purchase the meal plan if we decide to do that, the only reason I want to buy them now is becaus I heard they may go up in price after Jan

I am prestty sure, but not positive, that if you buy your tickets from Ticketmania you will not be eligible for the Dining Plan. The Dining Plan is part of the package that Disney sells you, which includes tickets (bought through them, I believe). If I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me.

The tickets are part of the dining plan. I already had tickets for the parks but if I didn't purchase at least a one day ticket then I was not eligible for the meal plan. I did need one more ticket for all of us so I just got it through Disney, worth it to me for the meal plan

Sorry to butt in....but....I just found a discount code last week where you only buy a basic ticket and ask for YQS discount code with out the meals or YQX discount code if you are buying the meal package and they will, if you ask, upgrade a BASIC ticket to a premium ticket with parkhopper option, Disneyquest, Pleasure Island and water parks for FREE. That is a savings of $82.50 per ticket. So find out if Ticketmania can do that, and if not buy direct from WDW.
We upgraded all 6 of our tickets with the code last week, but you need to do this by 12/18. good luck

That code is only good until the beginning of March, the OP said she's going in May, so this wont work for her. Sorry!!

You can purchase the dining plan with just a one day base ticket.

Yes as long as you are staying on site. That is what I did, we already had two tickets and were only touring for 3 days, so I bought one base ticket and then got the meal plan for 7 days.

Clarification please. We have our resort reservations for Feb 15-22 2006 but I was waiting to purchase our tickets until I did more planning. I've decided the Dining plan is a good option for us and I am probably getting 4 day hoppers. Is the discount code something we could use? If so, how do I get it and how do I use it (with central reservations when I add our dining and park tickets)?

From the sounds of it you could use the code to upgrade your tickets to include DisneyQuest and the Water Parks, and since it's for free why not right? Though I am not 100% sure if that is the deal
