Hello! My family and I are going to Disney World in December for the MVMCP and we have the dining plan. Any suggestions about the BEST places to eat for sit down or counter service meals. Good snack ideas would be great , too!! We are going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM. We do plan to have a character meal at Chef Mickeys. We need some suggestions- this is the first time we have had the dining plan.
Thank you!!!!! :sunny:

Here are some places we like .. (I'm limiting the TS to one credit places)

MK - LTT for lunch, Plaza, Casey's

MGM - Mama Melrose, 50's

AK - Flame Tree BBQ, Tusker House

Epcot - Chefs de France, Rose and Crown, Lotus Blossum

Resorts - Boma, Spoodles, Kona, Grand Flordian Cafe

snacks - Mickey bars!!

Just back and we had the dining plan, I would say look over the menus and don't pick two places that have basically the same choices for two nights in a row. My boys are pretty adventurous eaters but found "steak" or "salmon" as the only real choices they were interested in at 3 restaurants in a row.

For counter service we like Columbia Harbor House near the haunted mansion in MK, and also Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland. At Epcot I think it was "Sunshine Seasons" (is that at Epcot? hmmm...we ate so much I'm getting confused). At MGM it was Backlot Express and Toy Story Pizza that we liked, and at Animal Kingdom it was a hot day so the indoor Tusker House was great. Flame Tree BBQ was one that I'd read about at AK that we didn't get a chance to try.

For Table service we LOVED ohana (shrimp and chicken appetizers, good salad, tableside-carved meats, cheese potatoes and banana pudding dessert). Kona Cafe was good (yummy Mahi Mahi and good steaks)....Coral Reef in the Living Seas Aquarium was better than we'd been led to believe (good steak, Mahi -Mahi & chocolate wave dessert is a must).....Boma buffet was right up our alley, we like to try new things, but we saw a lot of fussbudgets at this buffet saying ("there's nothing here that I like! Where's the mac & cheese!) Spoodles was a fun restaurant right at the Boardwalk...you can get there quickly from Epcot or MGM. The only bad choice we made was Maya ...we should have eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe that night but got off track.

Here are some of the places that we enjoy

MK: CP for dinner, it is very good and has a large selection in food and desserts. Cosmic Ray's for lunch, they have a wonderful chicken caesar salad and the toppings bar for burgers is DH's favorite. For treats we love the egg rolls from the stand across from the Alladin ride, the carmel corn by they Hall of Presidents, the rice krispy squares from the candy store on Main Street and a root beer float with chocolate ice cream from the place next to the Stitch ride.

Epcot: for table service our favorite so far is the Beirgarten (DH is 100% German) but we are trying Le Cellier soon so that may change. For counter service we love the Tangerine Cafe, the rotisserie chicken, olive salad and the meatball plate are wonderful!! For snacks we love the Kaki Gori (like a sno cone) from Japan in the melon flavor, school bread from Norway, egg roll from China, DH has to have an eclair in France and I love the ham and cheese croissants there too.

MGM: for table service we have enjoyed the 50's Prime Time, the fried chicken is wonderful and the smores are to die for...it is a really fun place to eat. We really have not had much to eat here, not too much to chose from....

Here's our favorites:

MK- CS Cosmic Rays (we get the chicken rib combo and share it) and Pecos Bills.
TS-we actually haven't done a TS here. Nearby-we love Park Faire Dinner at GF. Short monorail ride to MK.
MGM-TS-50's PT
CS Toy Story Pizza Planet
AK-CS Tuskers and Flametree. We haven't tried Pizzafari-plan on doing it in Sept.
TS-None
EPCOT-TS-Tepanyaki, Le Cellier, Princess SB in Norway
CS-Cantina de San Angel, Tempura Kiku, Sunshine Seasons.
Other-TS Kona at Poly (our fav. of all), PF 1900, Spoodles (hit and miss with this one)
CS-Spoodles pizza take out and POP Food Court (actually all food courts at value and mod.)

New ones we are trying in Sept.
TS-Rose and Crown and PF for Breakfast
