ME Timing Question - Orlando Traffic

I'll be using ME on my next trip, and I have a late flight out on my departure day (a weekday) so I can make the most of the day. I know you need to be at the ME stop 3 hours before your flight takes off. That would put me on a bus around 4:30 - 5:15.

My question is - does Orlando rush hour traffic play into this timing? Should I try to get on an earlier bus to verify I don't miss my flight because of excessive rush hour traffic? Does Disney account for this, or is this the sort of thing I should take into my own hands?

Thanks!

You don't need to worry about the DME pickup timing. They will get you to MCO on time.

Thanks. I have some worry because I have been very late to the airport twice and had to hightail it to the gate because of ME being late, but I've not gotten on the bus at rush hour before!

I've never seen "excessive rush hour traffic" on 417, the route that ME uses. Barring an accident, it's always smooth sailing.

1. You admitted having to run for your plane.
2. Others have admitted having to run for their planes.

Ergo, if you are concerned or anxious about this I suggest reserving an earlier bus back to the airport. This request, provided you initiate it in timely fashion, is always granted.

You can always call DME and arrange for an earlier pick up time.
