Now I know why I don't live w/ any of my family members. My sister is so tired she accidentally uses my toothbrush this morning. Big kabuke yucky-doo! The funniest moment of the trip by far. Good thing she and I are close!
We let 11 yr. old Alissa sleep late due to the late night parade the evening before. Consequently we don't get to MGM until 11am - 7/1. We find it quite packed at that time. Very hot too. I think the buildings are close together in that park and it holds heat in. We first grab a fast pass for Indiana Jones for the 1:30 show then eat ice cream. I don't know, it just seems that I have to eat ice cream every day at Disney.... Went over to the GMR where the sign says 35 minutes wait. It actually was more like 25, so I'm happy. Get fast pass for Star Tours before lining up for Indiana Jones. Pretty good show and it's cool in the theater. After Star Tours we go have lunch at the Pizza Planet. I guess it was okay - we picked there b/c my grandniece is a pizza fiend. We debate over lunch what else we should do there and decide that MGM is a lot of shows that you have to wait 30 minutes for and then sit through for 30 minutes. We don't feel like that today so we opt to just go back to the hotel. I would have liked to see the Beauty & the Beast show - I missed it last trip too. I decide though that I will pass this time and philosophically state that you should always leave something unfinished at WDW so you have a good excuse to go back again! We acquire many pressed pennies for Alissa's growing collection from the stores down the main street (what's it called???) as we make our way to the exit.
Back at WL we ride the surrey bike for 4 and get caught in a huge downpour. By the time we get back we dub it "the bike ride that turned into a boat ride." The nice lady at the counter only charges me for a half hour even though we were out 45 minutes. She said it's perfectly understandable due to the weather. That's sweet! We have to change, shower, and drape wet clothes everywhere.
We take our trusty ponchos to MK and find no crowds. I am shocked b/c it's e-night there and I thought by 8pm the place would be filling. We do Carousel of Progress and the theather is 3/4 empty. Over at Pirates no lines at all. Dinner was roasted chicken & mashed potatoes in Tomorrowland and we enjoyed it. The line at the Teacups goes very fast. Rode BTMRR twice w/in 20 minutes and then Splash Mtn. which is sending boats through w/ 3 people in them (no kidding). The parade was just ending when I herded my duckeis in a row down Main Street to exit just ahead of the fireworks crowd. We got on the very first boat back to WL and have to pack before we can go to bed. We enjoyed the trip very much although it was a short one. Have no fear - we will be back!!!!
