ME Luggage Tags? - UPDATE 4/20 - NEW UPDATE 4/26

We booked with WD travel & have not received luggage tags. I called today & was told none were needed. I questioned her & she was very firm. She is incorrect, right?
If none were needed, the WDW would know via tea leaves what bags were
for ME or not!! Then we could just leave the bags on our home doorsteps,
and they would "magically" appear in our resort room! Why do the CM's tell
people things like this?? I am getting really irritated!!! Is anyone else, or am
I getting super cranky! :badpc:

I am surprised no one has reported receiving them. Everyone asking is being told the same -- some were mailed, and mailed Fed Ex.
So where are they? It will be interesting to know where they are coming from. The top of a Tibetian mountain? :rotfl:

Some of the confusion could be wording. I don't know the official wording, but there are the personal bag tags (with name, address, etc). And there is the bar coded airline luggage tags.

We too are flying in on May 5th. and haven't recieved our tags. I called as well and was told that I should recieve them in the next few days.

This is a quick 2 day trip this time and wonder if I reduce down to NO checked baggage and don't recieve my tags on time, can I still use the service with carry on luggage?

If you are signed up for ME you can still use ME. Luggage will go in the bottom of the bus.

Welcome to the DIS.

Hi everyone! After calling CRO last night to see about the ME luggage tags they gave me a number to call directly for Magical Express today to see if there was any problem with my reservation. When I asked the very nice CM at CRO when we would get our luggage tags he replied that we should get them 21 days prior. Of course, after I told him that I was down to 16 days before we leave he started reading off something about there being problems with printing. He didn't have much more information than that, but told me to call this number the next day when they are open. After calling today, they had no problem bringing up my reservation for ME and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. They did say they had a problem with printing, and it seemed to sound like it concerned the books that will be coming with the luggage tags and not the luggage tags themselves. (Although, I'm not positive about that.) I had read reports on the DisBoards about the luggage tags being shipped FedEx, so I wanted to give them my home address since the mailing address that they have on my reservation is just a PO box. After inquiring about that they said that it would be fine because they would be shipping them by express mail. Not to cause anyone to worry anymore about ME, but from talking to the ME CM (if that's what you would call them) supposedly none of the packages have been shipped out. The CM that I talked to said there was no reason to be worried, since they will be sent out by express mail we will get them before our trip.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to tell the latest that I've heard from the Disney CMs.

We are going to CBR on May 7 - 14 and received our luggage tags two - three weeks ago. My mom is going with us on a separate ressie from May 7 -11 and she also received her tags.

How many tags to they give you. We have a total of 7 people in all, 4 in one room and 3 in another. My brothers girlfriend is now going with us so we have to send her the tags to Mexico since she will be on a different flight.

For those of you that have received tags already...if they are plastic credit card type tags that have a clear loopy thing with it, and most likely have Tink on them this year, they are the regular, general, all purpose luggage tags everyone gets when they book through CRO. Not the DME tags yet. Those will most likely have a bar code on them, and come with info booklet.

As far as how many tags you will get...I would imagine that you get two, since most airlines allow you to check two pieces of luggage per person. So, if you have 5 people going, then you will get 10 tags...2 per person.

skallis214, did you get luggage tags with Tink on them or did you get tags with a barcode? I just wanted to check to see if you were on a package at all (which gives you free luggage tags), since that might be what you received.

Nevermind...goofy4tink beat me to it!

I called to day, as we are leaving in 18 days and still have not recieved our ME tags, and the CM said they were having problems, but not to worry, they would be here before the day we leave. Can someone please post when they get theirs!!! TIA

I'm still waiting too. We leave May 6. We were given the Tink tags, but I know they aren't right. My concern is not having enough tags. When I called months ago they said they would be mailing 1 each and you could request more. I'm not sure we will have time to request more if they don't come soon. Also we have a DS 2 who is traveling. He has an airline seat, but isn't really recognized as a guest by Disney. If I only get 3 (DH, Me, and DD 4) I know we won't have enough. I would rather have 8 (2 ea) and if we don't need them then great.

Anyway, just really wanted to make sure I see when people start getting them.

You should receive 2 per airline passenger. If your 2 year old son has his own seat/ticket on the airplane, and thus is entitled to his own 2 pieces of checked luggage, then you should receive 2 for him just like for everyone else. He's not a paid Disney guest, but they recognize that their criteria don't extend to airlines. I have a 2 year old flying with me on May 8, along with my 5 year old and my wife. We're expecting 8 DME tags, just as you are.

Okay, I'm an idiot - I received Tink tags and thought those were the ME tags. But, thanks to all the experts here at DIS, I now know I don't have the right tags and now I'm getting worried. We leave in 14 days and I want my tags sooner rather than later because I have too much to do the next 14 days and don't want to be stressing about stupid luggage tags. Actually, since my DH just decided he wants to rent a car maybe I won't even need the ME tags. Oh well, confusion is my life :confused3 .

We received our package information last week and the Voucher for ME stated the following:

"You will receive your Airport Transportation Booklet which includes your transportation voucher and luggage tags in a separate mailing. This booklet will be mailed approximately 21 days prior to your Resort arrival."

I think the key word here is approximately. I'm hoping everything will run smooth with this, however since it is new I expect there will probably be some glitches.

Pixie wishes for everyone involved that it will be smooth sailing.

I am getting a little nervous now that many of you have stated that you have received a packet of info for ME. I booked ME for our June 1-10 trip at the beginning of April. I have not received anything nor was I given any kind of confirmation number. Should I call back? :sad2: :listen:

We are leaving On May 5 Also, Called this morning and was told they will be sending via FedEX the first of the week. This is getting to close for comfort...

I wouldn't worry about anything. Most people (like myself) are worried because we haven't received anything yet and we leave the first few days ME begins in May. Nobody received a confirmation number when they signed up for ME since it is directly linked to your resort reservation. Somewhere under the 21 days prior from the day you leave you should receive your ME information. The only reason us May vacationers haven't received our information is due to some printing problem, but once they fix some of these problems associated with the startup of this service, it should work smoothly. Of course, whether or not it does remains to be seen! :sunny:

We leave on May 6 and I was a little nervous so I called last night. The CM told me that the tags have been printed and would be delivered by Fed Ex. She also gave me the number for ME. It's 1-866-599-0951. She said that they are open M-F from 9-5. We had originally planned our trip for mid-May but had to bump it up to May 6. I really hate to be a guinnie pig with the ME!
