Best Test Track strategy for our travel group?

So we will be traveling end of October and most of our party is interested in doing Test Track. However, my mother (who won't be riding due to medical issues) and my son (who is too young/short) won't be riding.

Because of the nature of our trip, trying to select it for Lightning Lane purposes is pretty much out (one of our party is joining mid-way through our trip, so while most of us might have a shot at securing a LL slot when we go to book our pre-selects, they almost certainly won't by the time their booking window opens). We also don't really want to lose out on a LL for Ratatouille since we all can/want to ride that and we want the flexibility to book it around my son's nap schedule. I don't expect wait times for Test Track to drop by much in only a few months since it just reopened and anything "new" is a draw, though anything can happen I guess, lol.

Looking at our choices, it looks like our best bet would be one of the following:

1) go straight to Test Track during early entry, and then head upwards to do Frozen afterwards. My only hesitation there is it will almost certainly gobble up all of the early entry time, when we could instead hit Frozen up right away and probably knock out a few other quick things I know my mom and son can do.

2) save Test Track for the very end of our day (approx. 5:30ish based on my itinerary estimates) and wait in standby then.

We don't have any issue splitting up to do single rider.

If you were us, which option would you do? Or do you have a third awesome option we haven't yet thought of?

I don’t know if the trend is going to continue but some attractions were not open at the start of early entry. I just got back and test track did not open till 9 one morning at least. Also another day it seemed to be down the rest of the afternoon too. The wait seemed to be consistently 80-110mins though, so probably just do the stuff you want and know to set aside the time to just wait in line. The single ride line seems to move quickly though if you want to split up.

Don’t forget to verify the “Frozen” performance schedule when you make your plans for your trip.
Wrong "Frozen." The Frozen show (For the First Time in Forever) is in Hollywood Studios. OP is talking about the Frozen (Ever After) ride at Epcot.

I would try to take advantage of things everyone can do during Early Entry. Remy and Frozen (assuming they're up and running, of course) are great for that.

I think that's the trend everywhere at this point... can't count on all rides that are suppose to be open for EE, actually being open. Sometimes they know, and won't let you get in line. And then other times they don't know and you'll line up for a while and then they say it's down and don't know how long it will be. Sometimes it's half the day, others it a few hours, often it's till regular park opening, and a few times it 5 mins later.

Best to have a plan B ready

Single rider is great on Test Track. You can show up in the middle of the day and not wait very long for single rider.

Frozen and Test Track both get a decent line during early entry. You'll probably only get on one of them unless you are on the first bus to the park in the morning. If you do this, I'd probably do Frozen first.
