ME Luggage Delivery

I'm wondering if anyone has a guess to the average delivery time between when your flight arrives and your luggage is delivered to your room.

We have used DE twice, in 2005 we arrived (the Friday before Jersey Week) at about 4pm at MCO, our luggage arrived at our room about 9pm. However, in 2008 we arrived about the same time on the Friday before President's week and our bags arrived just after midnight.

This time around we are going to arrive the Wednesday before President's Week at 7:30 pm. I'm debating whether it would be easier to pick up our luggage at MCO and bring it on the bus. What I'm trying to avoid is another post-midnight delivery.

I'm guessing the will be less busy due to our arriving a few days early for President's Week but a delivery of less than 4.5 hours seems like a long shot. Any thoughts?

DME says to expect luggage to arrive in your room within three hours of check-in time. Since it can take up to 90 minutes to get to the resort and then a bit longer to check in, it typically will take up to four to five hours from when you land until the luggage arrives in your room. Most often it will be less than or no longer than that, although occasionally it can take longer. As a result, if everything is running correctly midnight should be the late end of the delivery window for your luggage.

FYI: If you're staying at a value resort, they will not deliver your bags after midnight as luggage services closes then. Deluxe and moderate resorts have 24 hour bell services.

What we always do, when arriving any time where a late night delivery might be an option is this. We plan NOT to have our bags delivered until the next morning. We always pack enough stuff for the 1st 24-48 hrs in our carryons (pjs, swimsuit, change of clothes 3-1-1 toiletries). We'll check in at our resort, and ask that the bags NOT be delivered that night. Then once we get to our room, we'll call Bell Services/Luggage Assistance and ask that they not deliver our bags. Finally, we put the Do Not Disturb card in our key slot. The next morning we get up, get ready for the day, and as we're heading out to breakfast, call to ask for our bags to be delivered. They are usually there by the time we're done with breakfast, and getting ready to hit the parks.
