MDR menus

Ah! The New Years Eve is most likely the cause for the unusual rotation! Is that on night 2 of the cruise? My guess is that you will have a special New Years Eve menu and they will skip the Pirates Night menu for your cruise.
According to OP. Pirates Night is Night 4. I was on a 4th of July cruise and instead of a whole new menu they just had a few new Apps, Entrees and Desserts special for the 4th.

Yes - New Year's Eve is on night 2 of my 7-day cruise. CM told me when she handled my rotation request that Pirate Night is on night 4. Do you still think they might skip the Pirate Night menu for my cruise? Do you think there would be no Pirate Night event at all?

Do you think that would be the same for a 7-night Very Merrytime Cruise? Sailing on the Magic during thanksgiving, and we were told one night will be thanksgiving. Wondering how that works out and what we end up ‘missing’ as a result.

I don’t think they will skip Pirates. As other posters have mentioned. I think your rotation might of changed since you called the CM.

You probably won’t have a whole new menu for New Years Eve. It will most likely be a few extra items for each course.

Here was the schedule from a previous NYEve cruise on the Fantasy (NY Eve was on Day 2 that year, also)

1 - Standard Rotational
2 - Happy New Years
3 - Standard Rotational
4 - Pirates
5 - Standard Rotational
6 - Prince & Princess
7 - See Ya Real Soon

(from Disneycruiselineblog They also have the menus. This was Dec 30, 2017 - and menu items change very little over the years.)

I think this is what you will have, too.

What did change since 2017 is that DCL no longer has ship-wide menus on most 7-night cruises, except for Pirates and special occasions (holidays) . So, there is no longer a ship-wide "Prince & Princess" night.

It seems that Disney wants to make sure that every guest has the same set of menus for the cruise. So, if there's a special menu on night 2 (Happy New Years), then there probably won't be a Pirates menu. If there is a Pirates menu, then "Prince & Princess" will be replaced with some other ship-wide menu that's usually offered on longer sailings. More likely, though, is that they skip the Pirates menu.

You'll still have Pirate Night, even if they skip the menu. That's what always happens on 3-night cruises.

I believe the Thanksgiving menu is a Full menu replacing another. My guess is you will miss one of the Captains Gala, Prince and Princess. That is how my Christmas cruise in 2019 worked. I think you will still have Animation Magic because of logistics in Animators Palate.

I think the 2017 cruise was when they still had the second set of menus in all dining rooms. This is from 2019 over NYE and there is no Pirates menu.

OP, no one will know for certain until you get in that ship and get the info in the app about menus. But my guess is that you have the pirates party but not the menu.
