We have existing reservations for December. We decided to do a week off site in August and I just received our Park Hoppers from Undercover Tourist.

I know I have to go to MDE and enter our Park Hoppers.
(which is easier? The website or the App? I thought I read that you can scan your Park Hoppers into the system with the App.)

So if I put these Park Hoppers into MDE, will it link it to my current December reservation? I don't want it to because our 30 day out is Thursday and I want to start choosing our Fast Passes each day.

1- I know I have to go to MDE and enter our Park Hoppers.

2- (which is easier? The website or the App?

3- I thought I read that you can scan your Park Hoppers into the system with the App.)

So if I put these Park Hoppers into MDE,

4- will it link it to my current December reservation?

5- I don't want it to because our 30 day out is Thursday and I want to start choosing our Fast Passes each day.

1- Yes.

2- I'd rather work with the site (after the tickets are connected.)

3- Yes, using the camera on a smart phone to photograph the ticket.

4- Stand-alone tickets will be available for use on ANY date,
so if you wanted to choose to use them on that trip, you may do so.

HOWEVER-

5- But, if you simply choose to start making FP+ reservations within 30 days before ANY given date, you may do so.

Its not linked to your resort reservation in that way. Once you put the tickets in (I just used the numbers, others have scanned the bar code with their smart phone), you will immediately be able to book FPs for the next 30 days.

With an off site trip, you don't get to book 30 days from your trip date necessarily, because Disney doesn't know when you arriving. Instead, you can book for 30 days from NOW.

If you were to do nothing with those tickets other than enter them in, your December trip window for FPs would open 60 days from that resort check in date.
