Is there a specific forum for MDE questions? I haven’t used it in years and need a refresher. I am specifically confused as to why if I have packages (2 different because I am still deciding on resort), and park reservations I need to “link” the resort reservations and tickets? Advantages to doing so? Disadvantages to linking? Thanks in advance.

They aren't really linked to a resort reservation in the way you are thinking. I can see how the way they present it makes it seem they are linked.
The way it's set up is having a resort reservations allows you to access a different pool of park reservations and allows you to have as many park reservations as you have nights, limited by number of tickets.
