MDE help needed-so confused

We've had no issues dealing with our MDE account and using it, that is until now.
I've been 11 months in the planning of a 60th birthday celebration mid March 2015. We have a 2 bedroom and a studio at BWV reserved.
Early in the planning I had our son & girlfriend (studio) and our daughter & family (2 bedroom with us) sign up for a Disney account and "connect" to my account.

I noticed today that it seems I have "control" of the planning for my son in law, granddaughter(3yrs old) and son's girlfriend. HOW do I fix this? I don't want to plan their Fast Passes etc.

Is there an easy way to do this. I am afraid of the "delete" button :scared: as I certainly don't want to remove dining reservations I have made for a few special meals (and also afraid it will somehow misdirect their Magic Band delivery)

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give. I plan on calling Member services but thought someone here might have the answer.

You shouldn't call Member Services, you should call the MDE support lines. What likely happened is that you created your reservation before your son-in-law, and son's girlfriend had an MDE account.

I had this issue in March so what you'll need to do is delete your son-in-law and son's girlfriend and then send them an invite email. That will get them to create their own accounts.

Your granddaughter is a different story. You'll have to call the support line (NOT Member Services) and ask them how to move a child from one MDE account to another. The issue is that you have the reservation with her named on the reservation. They'll have to do some work to move her to her parent's account.

It took me a little while to get everything straightened out (I had several children to move) but it all worked out in the end.

Good luck

THANK you for your quick response. I guess my hesitance in clicking "delete" for my son's girlfriend and my son in law is that it will also delete them on the dining reservation I have set up already.
Quite honestly, now that I am thinking about this, my husband does not have his own account (I make all the plans). So if I do delete my son in law and my son's girlfriend...I'm assuming then that my son and daughter can plan for their guests. And yes, my granddaughter I unfortunately added on without thinking.
Why oh why does this all have to be so confusing!!!

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you too. One light at the end of the tunnel is that you only have to do all this once. The system wants all adults (children 13 and up count as adults) to have their own MDE account. Once you get them all with their own account and "owning" their own children, everything will work smoothly. In the future, before creating a reservation, make sure everyone has an MDE account.

Call them. I called the main number on the WDW website, explained my problem, and they transferred me to the tech support people. He got both of my problems taken care of. It was very good.

I personally wouldn't mess with things on my own unless/until I was on the phone with the tech support people and they told me to do something.

Actually if they make their own account, and then send YOU an invite, I think it will all hook up. The child, you'll need to talk to the MDE people to switch over.

I agree. This is what we did way back last January for both my DF and my DS (with DGD 5 to be attached to his account). I had been planning & managing everything for them, but then they needed to be independent. So they created their own accounts and one of us invited the other (I don't remember who) and all has been well ever since. (Except that they didn't pick characters, so now they show up as plain Mickeys on my MDE list! :-(. )

Merry Christmas and thank you to all who responded to help me with my question. I did call the main Disney number today and had an excellent cast member help straighten things out for me. It took a little while but all is now fixed (a big relief on my part).

I hope you all have a wonderful and happy, healthy New Year!
