MDE App Update & Recent “Refresh” Changes Discussion (we’re not doomed!)

I guess you guys should build a firewall between our countries.

Not on your life!! You are too valuable to us DISers here in the U.S. I still wish how I knew you got all those FPs. I tried to play with it today and wasn't near as lucky. I was on my desktop and kept hitting the time, but only saw BTMRR pop up once. When it did, I clicked it...gone.

This would be pretty doable for 2 people given enough time and refreshing, well, refreshing as we’re used to using it.

Although if one reads the written notes on the video, he says their Minnie Van driver on the ride from DAK to MK gave them a FP that they used for 7DMT.

So if the order of the video is accurate, they probably had pre-booked FPs for Space, Splash, & BTMR, hopped to DAK and somehow got a EE FP (probably refreshing), then hopped back to MK later that night and got the FP pixie dust from the Minnie Van driver they used on 7DMT. (Caveat that I didn’t watch the whole video in case they explained something different along the way).

They could have used the single rider line for EE and if they road together did what you shouldn't do in single rider and ask/plead to ride together.

Ok, so I played for a few minutes for MK tonight using private on safari. I was not shut out of anything (PotC, JC, HM, Buzz, Pan). Unfortunately none of the coasters showed up. But that was the first time I got everything on the first try.

Pascal? I don't use much of that, but I see a surprising amount of Fortran these days in some surprisingly new systems. Their predecessors used it, and nobody really understands how it works, so they just moved it all to the new system and tried to not touch it!

I just found the same thing including a BTM. It doesn't appear be running the secondary search and every FP I try for I get.

It is a little hard to justify (myself) being angry at Disney because the app doesn’s refresh fast enough to get the same FP that 10,000 other people are trying to get that moment

At some point if all we demand are shorter waits, so that’s ALL they can point to as by far the #1 customer experience desire.... then thats what they will build and monetize however they can

Me either but I just got BTMRR for first time today (still using private on Safari)

Everyone can keep saying it's a glitch, but I honestly don't think it is. They are working on changing the system.

You're likely right, and as mentioned, this is how Maxpass works at Disneyland. You are competing with everyone in real time, and if you lose, you lose. It's just how it is. A lot of times, people cancel their Maxpass and you can get it, but only if you are lucky and the first one to succeed, otherwise it says "sorry, that time is no longer available."

This sounds like the new normal, and honestly, does seem more fair.

What on earth were we doing before when you saw a time & clicked & it was yours? If 100 of us suddenly saw Big Thunder at 4:25, all 100 people who clicked got it?

Confirmed. Using the app, I waited 2+ mins just now on a Space FP and it still confirmed... unless no one else is scouring MDE for FPs. But no one at all?!?

It didn't show all the available times to everyone before. Everyone got a random assortment, if anything. So if 100 refreshed at the same time, 20 might have have been offered BTMRR (20 is a made up number). And it would be available to all 20.

Yep. I did it in both Safari private and Chrome and in both, it held the time offered for BTMR for several seconds.

That's quite possible but for me it's more the fact that when you click on the FP it goes straight to the confirmation page. The past couple of days you could see it run the 2nd search prior to it going to that page. Again, maybe just wishful thinking but this faster app with holds on FP's again would be great.

Maybe they took it down because they are going to fix it. Haha.

The web interface is not any faster.Off to go try the iOS AP. At least this time of night you don't have to scroll times.
