MDE and other Disney Tech Systems Down

it has crashed a few times now. Only know because I am sitting and waiting in a chat that crashes each time. About to call it quits for the day
 

Another day, another AWS outage.

Good luck logging in to your Amazon account......

Not back up for me, on either the MDE app or my computer. It seems to be coming an going. I wonder what's happening in the parks.
I'm thinking it's something like, "oh no, we have to stand in line like normal people, but wait, they were sold out of LL passes 4 hours ago."
 
Yeah it was back up briefly and now it's down again. It's a global outage impacting lots of companies, not just Disney.
 
I feel for everyone there right now - visitors because plans have dissolved into chaos and cast members for the aftermath.

Sounds like Genie/LL stuff was down, no one could (can?) check into their on site hotels, and gift cards were not able to be processed so people who didn't have other payment were left scrambling. Woof.
 
Sounds like quite a few rides were down this morning too (I’ve got a friend there atm). Have seen some speculation online that this could also be related to Amazon being down?

Well "global" as far as companies that use Amazon for hosting. They are the largest cloud services provider, hence the reach. Fear not, though. Microsoft Azure's equipment is catching up in age and will certainly be joining the outage party.

Right. It knocked services out for companies across the globe, affecting businesses and consumers worldwide. It was kind of a mess to put it lightly.
 
AWS still experiencing massive outages (though slightly better than this morning). This isn't Disney's fault. But I'm still very curious what's going on at the parks. Are ADRs being recognized? Is Genie+ functioning?

I had no trouble checking in for my ADR at Coral Reef, though I did it in person and not on mobile. Not sure what time the outage started, but I tapped in for a Star Tours G+ at 12:15ish, but could not make another G+ after that. Tip Board kept giving me error messages.

Also, in-park vendors and restaurants lost the ability to take Disney Gift Cards. I had to use cash or credit card. Today was a good example of why you should always carry a backup form of payment just in case.

It's always a good idea to carry some cash into the parks. I have seen a snack stand that was cash only due to a technical problem.
