We will be arriving at MCO this Sunday around 5:30 pm and will drive to VB (first time!) for a few days before heading to OKW.
We have an all day flight from Seattle with only a breakfast served so I know we will want to stop somewhere for a quick meal on the way.

Besides the usual fast food places is there a place you would recommend that is good and gets you in and out quickly? (Can you tell I'm anxious to see VB?)

It's only about a 90 minute drive from MCO to VB. My suggestions is to grab a snack in the airport terminal "to tide you over" and then eat at VB.

have fun!

I agree with this suggestion. You might want to make a "rest stop" and get drinks and/or snacks at the airport to tide you over. Once you leave the airport/Orlando area there isn't much in terms of "civilization". If you are taking the Beeline to I-95, you will be mostly driving through ranchland until you hit the coast. Even then, the area right around I-95 is not that well developed until you head back out to the coastline, at which point you'll be at Disney's Vero!

Have a blast.

We have a snack on the plane (a good one, bcs we fly Song), then the first break we take is a stop at Hale Groves in Wabasso to get us some of that gorgeous local Indian River citrus to have while we're at VB. I believe Hale Groves is all of 2 miles from the resort.:teeth:

In your case, JoEllen, perhaps the airport is the right place to sit down and take a break (tho I hate to recommend airport food). There just isn't all that much in the way of civilization near the airport, and once you get on the road to VB, there isn't a lot thatb is easily accessible there either; so MCO might just be your best bet. There must be something decent there, I just can't think of any off the top of my head. Perhaps something associated with the Hyatt on site?
On our next trip coming in January, we're planning to arrive fairly late in the day (like you are, but a much shorter flight), and overnight at "Home" (BWV) having a nice meal at Spoodles perhaps, then a swim and off to bed. Then all rested and refreshed, we might use our APs to play for a couple of hours at one of the parks, then off to VB. You know, we've got WDW trips planned in November and April as well as two weeks in Maine at the end of the summer, yet currently I am most looking forward to our VB weekend in January. Don't know why.

Thanks for the good ideas. I didn't realize there wasn't much along the way. We may jsut hit the food court at the airport and then get our luggage and go. Can't wait until Sunday to go!

there is a very nice restaurant up by the Hyatt at the airport. We have had some great meals there. Or Chilis in the airport. I seem to remember once your on 95, you will have the regular stops, like Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, etc. Definately once you get to the Melbourne area, there will be lots of food, but you have to get off the highway.
