We are driving down to The World the first week of April and staying off-site in a rental house. My sister-in-law is flying down mid-week to join us. The morning she arrives, we will be having breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

What is the best, cheapest, and/or fastest way for her to get from MCO to the Contemporary? The Mears website only suggests Magical Express, but since we are not staying there, I don't think she can use it.

I'd rather her not spend $60 for a taxi. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

She can go down to level 1, ground transportation, and head to the Mears counter. It is just before you get to the DME area. There, she can book a ride to the CR....will cost about $20. She may even be put on a DME bus.

Taxi is the fastest. Is she willing to spend the $60?

Mears shuttle will be the cheapest (can be booked online ahead of time or at the counter on the ME level of MCO) but a taxi will most likely be faster. Not cheap though, as you said it will be around $60 plus tip.

Because she will be going to the CR, she won't be able to prebook the ride with Mears. If she were to be going to the Swan or Dolphin, then sure. But if you are going to a WDW owned resort, you can't book your ride online...has to be done at the airport, in person.

Oh that's good to know - thanks! I've only ever used it for Swan/Dolphin so I had no idea!

The best way is Mears' Shuttle, q.v. above. It's very easy to walk up to a Mears counter and buy a ticket and go out to the platform. They are on both (A & B) sides of the airport main terminal.

The cheapest way is the Lynx city bus system, drops you off at the Magic Kingdom parking lot, take the monorail to the Contemporary. But current routes have you going up to downtown Orlando and transferring to a bus back down to Disney. I always research public transportation options before visiting a city, but the idea of having to go north when my final destination is to the south is particularly unappealing.

The fastest way is by taxi. Walk out of the airport main terminal, a "concierge" will direct you to a cab, and off you go. Yes you can get a taxi of the brand you want even if the first in line is a different brand. All except Yellow or Checker (I forget which) charge you the MK parking fee when you go to MK or a resort past the MK toll plaza even if you are not the first customer that that driver took on that route (In and out and lot hopping are free for day guests driving).
