MCO immigration

Yes we have been pulled on our last two trips with the twins, i think it helped one was screaming the place down as the other family in our party didnt get pulled

Fingers crossed that they do pull people with babies out. If not its going to be an interesting wait.

I really don't like the sound of all these immigration delays at MCO but I assume this isn't a problem that's affecting Florida alone and I expect there will be additional delays wherever the first point of entry happens to be.

Maybe I have had bad luck but my past experiences of travelling indirect via Newark have been no better than going through MCO and the longest wait time for luggage that I have ever had in the US was after my last connecting flight from there so any advantage there might have been was wiped out.

I think I will just stick with going direct from London or Manchester to Orlando and take my chances with immigration. I already have one connection anyway as travelling from Aberdeen so the journey is long enough without another leg. Although the Aer Lingus option sounds interesting and I will be interested in any reports as to how that works out:)

When we were thier nearly 2 years ago we waited over on hour in that stupid que! Thier was only 6 of the desks open and were slow. Not looking forward to that experience again.

Two years ago, we were on the BA flight from LGW that pretty much arrives the exact same time as the VA one! So we waited in that mammoth queue, only to be then held by immigration (was on a work visa as was about to start the college program at WDW) after handing over my documents at the desk. We were held in this tiny room, crammed in like sardines, no information, just told to wait and not to talk. Not a great experience - I think we were held for around 4 hours in total....

After that, I think I'll be able to deal with an hour or two in the queue if that's what it takes now! I'll soon get over it once I'm on the ME on the other side :)

On our last trip it was quite busy, but there was a guy walking round and pulling families with small babies straight to the front. (Not sure if this is something they do frequently or not). We were lucky to be included in this as I was pregnant and had a tired 2year old in my arms lol.

Ooh hope this happens. We'll have 14 month old DS who just wants to walk everywhere and climb on everything and everyone and 2 year old cousins DS who is completely hyper - I mean scary hyper!! Cant imagine the queue with both our kids! Would be so grateful if we were pulled from the queue, just hate the thought of really annoying other tired travellers with our in-your-face kiddies!

think I might pinch a couple of the aircraft pillows and stick them up my top so I look VERY pregnant and see if that works..they will prob just look at me and think 'NO...she's too old to be pregnant she must just be extremely fat':rotfl:

:rotfl: I might just be desperate enough to attempt it!!

You'd need more than a couple of those skinny pathetic pillows to try look pregnant, lol. If I wanted to create that impression I'd be inclined to raid the whole PE cabin of pillows before disembarking :lmao:

They did call over one family last year, or one that I noticed, with an infant. Most airports are fairly reasonable with infants and the disabled. It's just a question of whether they notice them or not.

We have also been pulled with our twins when they was babies/toddlers normally they are crying or trying to escape in different directions lmao!

We know get assisted passage so we can bypass the long lines :)

If someone fainted would they try get them through faster? I faint quite easily if I'm in stood up in a really warm place for a long time, I'm fine if its outside so queuing in Disney will be ok but inside I'm not, so just worried about the airport. Plus I get travel sickness so already won't be feeling to good lol

We got straight though the front when my daughter been sick in the queue both at Orlando and Chicago.

Amazed they move anyone with small children to the front of the line, as small children make up a large proportion of the passengers. We have been traveling with our children since they were 9 months old , never seen it happen, but good luck to those lucky enough .

I think it is more common with infants than small children. Unfortunately (for the parents in this case) learning to wait is something we have to teach them in real life. But I've been called at various airports when DD was a baby and have seen it being done at MCO too. Maybe it depends on who is on duty at the time

Arrived today into MCO on VS075. We took off approx. 15/20 mins late so not sure whether that would have effected our arrival time or not.

We were in PE rows 23 and 24 and there were only about 8 people off the plane before us. We headed off military style to the immigration hall and were very relieved to find it empty :thumbsup2

There didn't appear to be any less officers in the booths :confused3 in fact I would say if anything that there were more than we are used to seeing :confused3

We seemed to arrive just after another flight as the area with the carousels was busy (not used to seeing that).... Cases arrived very quickly but there was already a small queue to hand in the blue declaration form. This was very slow moving and as we left the area the queues were snaking back around the carousels, again haven't seen that before.

So all in all it took us a little longer than usual mainly due to the 'blue form' queue.....

Used the second bag drop thingy, again cases arrived really quickly...

All good :thumbsup2

Tired now so off to bed shortly!

Ali :goodvibes

Glad to hear it all worked out well for you on arrival. I saw your post and wondered what other nutter was still up at this hour, but I guess I have to deem you as sane since you are already in another time zone :rotfl: Have a good rest tonight and a great day tomorrow :goodvibes

Can I just ask what is second bag drop? I know we collect then go through blue form (as I take food) and put on another belt.

When you arrive you go through immigration and then you collect your bags and go through customs. You then sometimes (I say this as we have been stopped from taking them with us) put your bags on a second belt which transports them to the main terminal. You then collect them from there and off you go.
If you arrive from say an internal flight like Chicago to Orlando you will only have to get them from one belt and you will not have to pass immigration and customs again as you will have cleared that when you landed in Chicago for example. Same is true if you fly via Dublin or Shannon air ports as you per clear immigration there.

Thanks for that. I know the last time I can recall collecting the bags going through the blue form queue then putting the bags on another belt BUT for some reason we collected them and ended up going to the wrong place.
We are flying VA so I presume the bags go through to either A or B???? Then to get ME we just get in an elevator and go to the ground floor. I just dont know what happened the last time. All the times Iv been U have never had such a hike so dont know what I dud wrong. What a muppet!!!

you don't have to put them on the second bag drop belt anymore, you now have the option to take them with you up the escalator straight to the mononrail and not have to wait for them again in reclaim A/B. We do this as it saves time. (we don't have kids with us so this works well for us):)
